Farking shocking driving record for a young bloke.

Take his licence from him, and let him play football. No suspensions or stand downs or any of that crap.

Does that hot missus of his have a licence ? or will he have to bus it to the games ?

I think we all need to get off our soapboxes. Honestly I don't care if he eats baby pandas before each game. As long as he wins us a GF's I'm prepared to put up with his shit.

      Chook.

Sydney Roosters have vowed to stick with reformed badboy Todd Carney despite a lapse back to his old ways with a drink driving charge on Saturday.

While yet to announce any formal action against Carney, the Roosters intend to keep working with the 24-year-old, who enjoyed an outstanding regeneration in 2010.

Sacked in disgrace by Canberra in 2008 after a string of disciplinary breaches, Carney spent 2009 regathering himself and was rewarded with the Dally M Medal at the end of last season.

Also why was this meeting with his business manager at 7am on a Saturday?!?!? Surely it could have been during the week after a training session or something?

****en dumb manager should have been picking him up...

So he had a few the night before...wooppee doo...he's recuperating and not even playing at the moment...no one knows what he was doing the night before so don't pass judgement...all this could've been avoided if he was a bit more cautious and thought of asking his manager to pick him up instead...ffs my teenage daughter knows that idf she's had drinks the night before she won't drive the next morning at all...

I'm not that worried about it as long as he produces on the field for the Roosters he can get blotto every other night...

no doubt Friend/Carney living together is a very bad idea and something needs to done before they both end up on the scrap heap once again.

as much as I hate to say it Carney should get say a 6-8 week suspension without pay that ruins any hope he had of playing for NSW, in the long run this is not only in Carney's best interest but also that of the club.
                      I don't think a 6-8 week suspension proves anything.

The embarassment he will feel from all the press coverage will be sufficient punishment.

It is a race against time.

                        What a tragedy.
I would hardly call him an alcoholic.

It's not as if he wakes up in the morning craving a drink.

He is just an irresponsible westy.

He has probably had half a dozen beers and a few bourbons and been to dumb to realise that he would have an alcohol reading when he jumped in his car the next morning.

It's a stupid act without doubt.

I think the biggest problem with these guys is that they have too much spare time.

he wasn't driving drunk. This is a law that does not demand respect - the old limit of 0.08 was reasonable, but governments lowered it to a point where 1 middy of beer makes you a criminal.

And yes, I can hear all the perfect citizens saying, but it's the law. Yes, and it is also the law in some countries for women to be beaten to death for adultery or not wearing a veil. To you people I say, "bite my bum".

I can see the 4 foot tall hero copper who "randomly" pulled him over getting 4 and a half foot tall high fives back at the station from all the other brave dicks and dickless tracies for their capture. The same precinct where our city's finest were so diligent they noticed Jake Friend holding a microscopic valium pill on Coogee promenade. Random, yeah sure.

The same police force that takes payments from the Ibrahims and, closer to my home, laughed at my face when my house was broken and entered and robbed while my children slept, when I asked them if they were going to investigate.

You have my full support Todd.

Ouch! Somebody's got some real issues with authority here.

Yes and when police confiscate your pot they sit around the station smoking it right?

If we see them as just footy players with schoolboy mentality then it's easier to swallow.

People that expect them to sit at home every night playing solitaire need to remember what they did in their youth.

Sure, they are professional footballers. But they are also growing up and making stupid mistakes like all other humans.

He is an idiot but not alone in the footy ranks.

The Tigers have a player for them tonight who bashed his pregnant girlfriend. That is a low act in any culture.

We have a player that blew over the limit only because his license says he can't have any blood alcohol level at all.

People who can't just have one drink are considered to be victims of alcoholism too.

I have a mate who never drank first thing in the morning which is more the alcoholic you see on TV and in movies. He would get on it after work. He was a binge drinker who constantly found himself bashed, locked-up or waking up miles from home having no idea how he got there.

He eventually went to AA and he hasn't had a drink in 15 years or so.

Too say Carney's not an alcoholic because he doesn't drink first thing in the morning just doesn't cut it.
