He probably should have had a big breakfast this morning, then it would not have been an issue.

The same rules apply for everyone. He decided to get in the car, he broke the law and whatever punishment he gets he deserves. Don't see what the issue is.

I have a mate who never drank first thing in the morning which is more the alcoholic you see on TV and in movies. He would get on it after work. He was a binge drinker who constantly found himself bashed, locked-up or waking up miles from home having no idea how he got there.

He eventually went to AA and he hasn't had a drink in 15 years or so.

Too say Carney's not an alcoholic because he doesn't drink first thing in the morning just doesn't cut it.
I agree that there are varying forms of alcoholism.

I don't believe Carney falls into this category.

It's a good wake up call for him. Winning the Dally M and all the accolades doesn't make him invincible.

Yes and when police confiscate your pot they sit around the station smoking it right?

You don't think that has happened before?

Our police these days are too frightened, too paid off (or both) to take on the bad guys. So they hide behind trees with speed cameras all day.

There are good cops too, but they are weeded out of the system. Read "Dirty Work" by Glen Macnamara, a courageous honest cop who took on the scoundrels at Kings Cross Station who were dealing drugs and protecting paedophile rings. He ended up lucky to escape with his life, completely ostracised by the police community.

There are good people who join our police force but they realize sooner or later this is an occupation for those suited to revenue raising or corruption.

this is funnier than when I try to be serious
I thought coimparing Carney to Sa was the funniest but that that was outdone several times.
The whinge about him not driving drunk was funny, as the General said sounds like someone doesn't like being told what to do.

Alcoholic or not alcoholic, he is a RL player, most of them are getting pissed on the weekend. Doesn't make it right, but why are people so surprised

Did some low individual just censor ism22's post???

I read it all mate, you poor bastard, I feel for you so much. I am going through a similar ordeal at the moment.

The abused husband, there are plenty out there, but not politically correct for it to be acknowledged by our media and society.

                Post it again!

                  From the SMH today.

Sydney Roosters have vowed to stick with reformed badboy Todd Carney despite a lapse back to his old ways with a drink driving charge on Saturday.

While yet to announce any formal action against Carney, the Roosters intend to keep working with the 24-year-old, who enjoyed an outstanding regeneration in 2010.

Sacked in disgrace by Canberra in 2008 after a string of disciplinary breaches, Carney spent 2009 regathering himself and was rewarded with the Dally M Medal at the end of last season.

Having shown Carney so much faith, Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce said the club would stay the course, though he admitted Carney had shredded plenty of goodwill by being so careless.

"The timing is far from perfect and I know Todd's beside himself, he knows he's let a lot of people down," Noyce told Triple M.

"But it's happened now and it's how you come out the other side, from Todd and the club's point of view, that's the most important thing.

"To the kid's credit he did a lot last year to turn his image around.

"It doesn't justify in any way shape or form what's happened, but the amount of work and the spotlight that young man was under last year, he played some brilliant football and did some amazing community things.
                  --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets cut him some slack here please, he is a work in progress.

We are all guilty of errors of judgement, He will come out of this a better person, and at the end of his career will be known as a great League player, and a great ambassador of the game.

The police are BULLSH!T man!!! An ex-wife who abused me for 5 years had me trapped in her little cage during that time. When I left she accused me of beating the cr@p out of her (no witnesses or marks on her body... complete BS... all I did was pack my bag, walk out and live on top of a pub while deciding my next step in life...)

You'd reckon they'd just brush the claims off due to a lack of ANY evidence? WRONG!!! The cops arrested me, threw me in a smelly cell with lots of crims and were after me for 6 months. I had to live in a homeless shelter while paying for my ex-wife to live like a queen because the court ordered me to.

6 Months later (30k worth of legal fees... 30k worth of support costs...) NOT GUILTY!!! Didn't get a sorry, and she doesn't have to pay me back a cent. The prosecutors (i.e. tax payers) footed most of my legal fees in the end, but the whole system is a joke. The cops were watching me 24/7 during that 6 month period... I developed serious anxiety coz I could often see them out of the corner of my eye. They'd watch me everywhere and ask me questions if I noticed them e.g. "what are you doing here?" "why don't you go home?" "have you hit anybody today?" right in the public eye.

Over it now, but I've lost all faith in the Cops + the legal system. Why can't they go arrest Ibrahim? Prosecutors and Police are in bed with each other, but still can't get outcomes!

Heaps of guys I met during that period got arrested on minor charges that the cops had no evidence for. They'd then be bailed and the cops would give them misinformation (e.g. "yeah go see _____ it should be okay") so would then break bail conditions based on verbal advice from the cops (because they were too dumb) then break down and end up doing a minor assault on a cop or something (read: pushing away a cop who is trying to grab them, or slapping away a cop's hand that's trying to grab them) after 6 months of being stalked. From there onwards it's a slippery slope where the cops are gonna stalk you and try to arrest you for the rest of your life...

I've seen lots of decent men/women broken by the system and forced into homelessness/drugs/alcoholism because rather than helping them to get off their minor charges and stay away from the police, the system farks them! I'm lucky I was able to hold myself together, keep my job (boss was a champ!!) and get back of track. That said, I didn't make any counter claims against my ex-wife because I didn't want to go through the stress of the courts again...

Calm down everyone theres enough media gonna hit this with out our supporters ripping him apart. would not take too many beers to leave that in the system. The kid proved last year what he his capable of and will do the same again this year.I know he has done the wrong thing and i am by no means condoning it but i would dearly love one dollar for every person that has jumped in a car the morning after and thought that they were fine to drive.

Why the reaction, was I telling you what to do ?......

ISM I feel for your story, I have seen similar, guys absolutely taken to the cleaners only to be vindicated later on, I even know one that was accused of molesting his daughter (but didn't as admitted by the ex-wife later on)

Problem is that all the scumbags that actually are guilty of the crap against talso claim innocence. Its not always easy to tell the difference.
Its no consolation nor is it that I do not believe you, but thats the way it is unfortunately

So close to the start of a promising season this is absolute BS!!!! Can't believe it!!!!!!
Guess he has a criminal record anyway, so not the end of his life (or footy career)... but I think he needs to be banned from the booze again.
And how do you know that? Do you have a alcohol meter handy at your place?

Just back on that RBT show, there was a tradesman that got pulled over at Garden Island and was over. This was in the morning. He reckons he had about 7 beers the night before. Did not have breakfast the next morning.

The media love whipping up a frenzy because the public lap it up.
