ISM I feel for your story, I have seen similar, guys absolutely taken to the cleaners only to be vindicated later on, I even know one that was accused of molesting his daughter (but didn't as admitted by the ex-wife later on)

Problem is that all the scumbags that actually are guilty of the crap against talso claim innocence. Its not always easy to tell the difference.
Its no consolation nor is it that I do not believe you, but thats the way it is unfortunately[/QUOT

What a load of meaningless, thought-disordered word salad. Why don't you try making about one tenth of the 2000 or so posts you have tortured the forum with. Try posting only when there is a chance you might have something to actually say.

And you try to mock me?

how about all of you just calm down, i highly doubt that all the naysayers would be jumping down there own kids throats as harshly as your jumping down todds, he is a kid and he made a mistake, these things happen, its up to the courts and the club to punish him for that, not us. We are a team, the players, staff and supporters, we are supposed to stand together, be united.

            Meh.

Let the courts castrate him. Unless it affects his football ie rocking up to training drunk, then i do not care what goes on in his personal life.

                    This thread is hilarious.

                    We sure do love controversy.

Sack our best player, suspend him for six weeks, because he had a few and then blew a little over the limit?

                    Yes, it was stupid.

Yes, it would have been good if it hadn't happened.

But **** me, if you lot want him out, or stood down, for that, you're kidding yourselves.

Watmough was speeding by about 50km/h the other week, Kevin Pietersen got pinged for it during the Ashes... and noone cared whatsoever.

It's getting beaten up because it's Carney.

Honestly, if he carves up Souffs come Round 1, could any of you give a shit as to whether he downs a few two weeks beforehand?

Thanks for the kind words .

Actually it was , I have since written a letter to our CEO telling him of my disgust in this matter & the way the club handle certain individuals with stronger requirements than others

Spot on mate, my thoughts exactly!! The daily tellucrap love to get an opportunity to blow things out of proportion just so they can Roosters bash. The daily tellucrap and $ouff$ supporters will only be happy if we sack Carney. F**K em, who gives a flying f**k what they think. Why the f**k would we want to sack him when kru$ty crowe will only end up signing him. All i care about is that Todd turns up for round 1 and contributes to the Roosters tearing $ouff$ a new one and flog the $hit out of them!!!!!!!!!

                          • So what, he blew a little over the limit. Tell him to pull his head in, not do it again then move on.

                            • SYDNEY Roosters have vowed to stick with reformed badboy Todd Carney despite a lapse back to his old ways with a drink driving charge on Saturday.
While yet to announce any formal action against Carney, the Roosters intend to keep working with the 24-year-old, who enjoyed an outstanding regeneration in 2010.

Sacked in disgrace by Canberra in 2008 after a string of disciplinary breaches, Carney spent 2009 regathering himself and was rewarded with the Dally M Medal at the end of last season.

Having shown Carney so much faith, Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce said the club would stay the course, though he admitted Carney had shredded plenty of goodwill by being so careless.

"The timing is far from perfect and I know Todd's beside himself, he knows he's let a lot of people down," Noyce told Triple M.

"But it's happened now and it's how you come out the other side, from Todd and the club's point of view, that's the most important thing.

"To the kid's credit he did a lot last year to turn his image around.

"It doesn't justify in any way shape or form what's happened, but the amount of work and the spotlight that young man was under last year, he played some brilliant football and did some amazing community things.

"He's got some credit points but unfortunately he soon got rid of those this morning."

Carney was caught via a random breath test about 7am AEDT on Coogee Bay Rd on his way to a meeting with his manager.

He blew a reading of 0.052, but is not permitted any alcohol in his system as a P-Plate driver, forcing a visit to the police station and subsequent charge.

Noyce said it would be impractical to impose a blanket alcohol ban, preferring the club concentrated on educating Carney in the benefits of clean living - as proven by his 2010 exploits.

"When you make rules you've got to be sure you can actually enforce them," he said.

"You can put maybe some clauses that people can't drink, but I doubt that prohibition has ever really worked, it's a matter of working with people, and being honest.

"We'll make sure Todd's okay, because he's an intelligent young man and knows a lot of people have gone in to bat for him and he's really been disrespectful in so many ways to them and the game.

"But in saying that he's a young man who's made a mistake and in the next 24 hours we make sure he's okay and that will do."

There was no indication from Noyce that the Roosters intended to do anything but stick by Carney, even as the episode provided an unwelcome distraction from Saturday night's trial match against West Tigers.

"I think it is important to keep working with him, he accepted the culture that we wanted within the club last year and he was very public," said Noyce.

"He didn't duck or weave, people in the media had a job to do and he understood that and accepted that.

"We certainly don't condone in any way shape or form what has happened this morning, but we'll continue to work with him."

He's just a dumb kid, did all the right things last night when he "was on it". Woke up this morning and went about his business, unfortunately he hasn't factored in that he may still be over.

Funny how trouble seems to find him though. What are the chances of the RBT to be in that position on the morning he decides to drive over the allowable limit for a p-plater.

As far as him drinking, well it appears to be part of his make up. The club probably cuts him slack in the off season in order to ease the pressure on him being able to meet the expectations of being Mother Teresa during the season.

                                Dumb? Yes. Criminal? hardly!!
