sounds like a very poor performance from our boys, two tries both from Tigers errors, didn't sound like we created anything through our own attack, definately a totally different pre-season to last year where we were electric in the trials.
Coach Smith has some work to do by the sounds of things, was a very strong side we sent our there tonight.
I wonder if the loss of Trent Robinson to France has had an effect on the team, he was a very highly rated assistant, and we all now JT has a habbit of causing friction within a squad.
anyone know what happened to Pearce apparently he left the field after 55 minutes a bit strange considering this was his only pre-season hit out, hope he is not injured and was rested on the basis we don't know if Carney will be available for round 1.
I know it was just a trial but i'm a lot less confident of smacking the Bunnies now than I was a couple of weeks ago.

To be honest, it would be much more even with both teams at full strength:
Minichiello v McKinnon
Perrett v Ryan
Kenny-Dowall v Ayshford
Linnett v Lawrence
Leilua v Tuqiri
Carney v Marshall = even
Pearce v Lui
Ryles v Gibbs
Friend v Farah
Hargreaves v Galloway
Anasta v Fulton
Aubusson v Ellis (just)
Myles v Heighington
Watts v Moltzen
Nuuausala v Payten
Masoe v Fifita (just)
Kennedy v Dwyer
Riddell v Flanagan = equally 'meh'
Carney v Utai
Cherrington v Moors (just)

Wests Tigers captured their first Foundation Cup victory at the Sydney Football Stadium tonight on the back of a superb performance from half-back Robert Lui.
Lui set up two tries, scored one himself, and kicked a field goal in the 19-8 victory over the Sydney Roosters in front of a crowd of 6893.
The 21-year-old also sent a strong message to Head Coach Tim Sheens that he is the man to start the season in the seven jersey despite the return of utility Tim Moltzen from a knee injury.
There appears to be no major injuries out of the match for Wests Tigers.
Wests Tigers lifted the Foundation Cup trophy for the first time since the trophy was first contested in 2007 between the two foundation clubs.
The Roosters opened the scoring in the 8th minute to winger Joseph Leilua after the ball went through seven sets of hands from a crossfield kick regained by the Roosters. Braith Anasta failed to convert the try for a 4-0 scoreline.
Some fine work by Wests Tigers half-back Rob Lui resulted in hooker and captain Robbie Farah scoring behind the posts in the 23rd minute. Lui took the line on from 10 metres out and offloaded in a three man tackle to Farah. Marshall converted the try to give Wests Tigers a 6-4 lead.
Lui again showed his class and what he can do with the ball when he again took on the line before providing a good short ball to put second-rower Liam Fulton over out wide. Marshall converted the try to give Wests Tigers a 12-4 lead after 27 minutes.
Referee Tony Archer denied the Roosters a try in the 32nd minute to hooker Jake Friend under the posts after he ruled a Wests Tigers player was obstructed in trying to make a tackle.
The Roosters applied plenty of pressure inside the Wests Tigers quarter in the final minutes of the first half but the defence held strong. Props Keith Galloway and Bryce Gibbs pulled off some solid hits.
2nd Half
Tim Moltzen started the second half at half-back, replacing Lui who was very impressive in the first half.
The Roosters got back to 12-8 when Leilua dived over in the corner in the 50th minute. The try came on the back of Wests Tigers full-back Wade McKinnon being uplifted in a tackle in which he lost the ball, leaving many to question where was the penalty. Anasta failed to convert the try.
Wests Tigers bombed a certain try in the 57th minute when Farah dropped an inside pass from Marshall 10 metres out from the tryline. It came after quick hands saw lock Chris Heighington put Marshall down the left flank in open space.
Moltzen moved to full-back to replace McKinnon with Lui returning to half-back.
Lui was rewarded with his fine game when he stepped through the defence to score under the posts in the 67th minute to stretch Wests Tigers lead to 16-8.Marshall converted the try for an 18-8 lead .
Lui then topped off his fine game when he landed a field goal right on full-time for the 19-8 scoreline.

Wests Tigers halfback Robert Lui has the early running in the battle for the NRL club's No.7 jumper this coming season after a five-star display in a 19-8 trial win over the Sydney Roosters.
The gifted halfback showed deft skills to set up first-half tries for skipper Robbie Farah and Liam Fulton, before the 21-year-old sealed the match with a blazing individual effort to totally overshadow more illustrious teammates Farah and Benji Marshall.
Lui's performance was a none-too-subtle reminder to coach Tim Sheens given the man he was meant to be vying with for the No.7 jumper - Tim Moltzen - was making his return after 10 months out due to a knee reconstruction.
Lui put the icing on the cake with a field goal after the siren, the Tigers claiming their first Foundation Cup in the fifth year of the clash.
The Roosters, however, will be hoping their playmaker Todd Carney's latest run-in with the law is only a minor setback after he was charged with low-level drink driving.
Last year's grand finalists lacked anything in attack in Carney's injury-enforced absence, not to mention his goalkicking with Braith Anasta failing to convert Joseph Leilua's two tries.
After an early avalanche of penalties, the game settled down as both sides adjusted to the latest rule crackdown by referees, Anasta penalised for taking a line drop out over the mark.
Leilua's first try came after a spell of hot potato following a tapped-back bomb, before Lui brilliantly set up Farah and Fulton in the space of two minutes to make it 12-4 at the break.
The Roosters' second came after Tigers fullback Wade McKinley appeared to be dumped on his head in a tackle which could land Nate Myles in trouble, while Jared Waerea Hargreaves was penalised after a hair pull on Tigers winger Lote TuqiriLast edited by fletch; 02-26-2011, 09:45 PM.

I went to tonight's match and caught a program. Justin Carney was listed to play. I wonder if his brother's error this morning was in any way related to Justin not playing.
Does anyone know?Written and published on behalf of the Liberal Party, Queensland

All those calling for Carney to be axed, suspended, gelded etc need to get a copy of this game.
We were hopeless without him. Pearce was OK and tried but it wasn't happening for him.
Robert Lui was by far the best player on the field in my opinion. Looked dangerous every time he had the ball. I'm tipping a big year from him.
Kane Linnett was good in the centres. I like how he gets the ball and runs straight, giving his winger room to move when he gets the ball.
Minichiello fumbled his first touch of the ball.
Mose Masoe did some great things. Has untapped potential. Unfortunately he is very suspect around the rucks. The Tigers knew that.
Surprisingly, Riddell looked OK. He has a football brain and will no doubt do some good things for us throughout the year.
One thing that is certain, when SOO is on we will struggle big time. When Pearce came off we were five times as bad as when he was on. No.18 was either very nervous or is very limited.
SKD should concentrate on running straight and shelving his silly behind the back passes before he spruiks four year deals.
So, we've had a narrow win over a QLD Cup side, have lost to the Dogs and been comfortably beaten by the Tigers.
I'm not feeling it at the moment.
If I was a Souffs official at the game I wouldn't be too worried.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.
