He should at least sign with us for a few more years.

After all...who 'made' him into a big huge star?
Who gave him the chance when he was standing at the door with his backpack?
      Who coached him?

Selling one's 'soul' for money usually doesn't end well.

after watching SKD's interview on channel 7 tonight I don't like our chances of keeping him, they were talking a lot about how his family had their house virtually destroyed in the Christchurch earthquake and when it was mentioned he was off contract there wasn't even a mention of being in talks with the club about an extension, I get the feeling as a duty to helping his family rebuild over in N.Z he will either head back to the Warriors or take the highest available offer in Oz.

you couldn't blame him for taking the money on offer and putting his family first.

I still can't understand why we would tie up FPN first and risk losing SKD because of salary cap restrictions, we have a wealth of backrowers that could replace FPN in future years but we don't have anyone with an eye for the try line like SKD.

I hope i'm wrong but I would have thought if he was staying he would have been re-signed before the season started.

The club cannot put all contract talks on hold for one guy.. Obviously the club offered FPN a deal and he accepted it.. On the other hand SKD is holding out.. I hope he shows the club the same loyalty we showed him when he was rubbish and no one else wanted him.

I really hope so RIP NRL it would be a massive boost for the club after a fairly ordinary pre-season.

                - losing Cherro for the season and Watts for at least the first half with injury
                - Todd's groin injury while in camp with four nations squad
                - a couple of lackluster trial performances
                - Carney/Watts bringing bad publicity to the club
                - Anasta's contract spat
                - Coach Smith heading back to his stress filled ways is not a good sign.
