there seems to be something not right about the negotiations for his extended contract, for months there has been rumours he was all but ready to put pen to paper then all of a sudden we re-sign FPN and do an about face in regards Anasta, I get the feeling these 5 clubs rumoured to be chasing SKD have driven up his asking price to a point we can't compete on financial terms due to recent upgrades and salary cap pressure.

I hope i'm off the mark here because without a doubt SKD/Kennedy should have been our highest off season priorities not FPN/Anasta.

The club never did an about face on anasta, they were always going to sign anasta, it was just down on the negotiation list.

as to why FPN may have signed first......depends on the negotiation process. FPN may have agreed to terms alot quicker because he was happy with them.

with SKD, it is a possible 4 - 5 year deal, negotiations generally take longer with such large deals.

i wouldn't read into it too much.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal that the Canterbury Bulldogs have sounded out Lawrence and will make a $350,000 play for the Test centre should Idris take up a $1 million offer to join the Nathan Tinkler-backed Knights.

The Belmore-based club has also expressed interest in Kenny-Dowall, who has five clubs trying to snatch him away from the Roosters.

I really don't get how the dogs can afford to be throwing such big money at Lawrence and SKD, when it is reported that they will struggle to keep Idris under the cap???????? Are they going back to their 2002 tricks again??

Yes I was talking to SKD the other day (when Phantom was off in the bathroom coz she always seems to be with him.) He told me that the plan is to trade him with the Waratahs for Kurtley Beale and Drew Mitchell. Drew will play centre (replacing SKD) and Beale will play FB (replacing Mini when he retired mid-season.)

I checked with Mini as well (Friday night I went out on the cans with Mini and Toddie...) all my boys (Toddie, Count and Skidz) said it's happening but to keep it quiet.
