I think everyone knows it was a morning after low range reading tough luck thing, but the haters still hate. Phil Rothfield is another class all together. He sees dragon flames and earthquakes here. He wants to rip and tear Carney's arse out. His teeth are biting and he tastes the blood but he's a sad F66k with a hate for The Roosters.
In the end, it won't matter... Good will always triumph over evil.

I agree its not the crime of the century like Rothfield and the like have made out, but please, lets not make excuses that Carney doesn't deserve. It wasn't an easy mistake to make, it was just plain, downright stupid!

" i honestly cant remember what happened"
" it was consensual"
" it was a set up "

Stewart never said any of those things
this is what he said
“It was getting dark but you could see very clearly,” Stewart said.
He said he saw a girl dressed in a singlet and shorts near the letterboxes and he guessed she was quite young.
“I would have said she was 13 to 14, she was very short, in a singlet and shorts.”
He described what the girl was wearing as “very weird”.
“I kept walking up, she stopped at the gate as I was going to walk through and said, ‘Are you Brett Stewart?’, I said ‘yes’ and she said ‘I’ve seen you on TV’ and I said “you probably have’.
“It took me by surprise that she was at the gate ... I said what are you doing here and she said ‘smoking’ and I said ‘yuk’.”
Earlier the court had heard Stewart say that he detested cigarettes. “I said what you are doing that for, that’s not good for you.
“She didn’t respond. That’s when she grabbed my arm and said ‘I just want a kiss’.”
Stewart said he backed away from the girl as she pulled him down towards her and tried to kiss him.
“She was very short, I lent back and said ‘I just want to go home, I’ve had a long day’.”
He said the girl left and he continued to wait outside near the letterboxes for about a minute.
“I’ve always been told at the club that if there is a scene stay there and let the dust settle.”
He said he did not know the girl or that she also lived in the complex.
“A larger man came running out the gate and said ‘Is this him?’ and the little girl was behind him and he said ‘Did you touch my daughter?”’
Stewart broke down in the witness box when he was asked what impact the media intrusion had had on his life.
“It’s affected me a fair bit,” he said.
why do you feel the need to just invent bullshit stories?

neither he nor his legal team made any comment about the charges before they went to court, except to say "the charges are denied"
when they got to court, his defense was as I outlined earlier

LOL@ToK, that was 11 months after he was charged, ofcourse his "best in the land" legal team had the perfect (and plausible) scenario worked to a treat by then - the issue would have never made it to court if he had stated that from the start, instead he refused to answer questions when charged by the police due to not remembering.
The truth would be somewhere in between, she pashed him then Stewart quickly realised how ****ed up the whole thing was and pushed away which made her mad and lead her to turn it into a sexual assault in the typical woman scorned manner.

but my point was that Stewart never said
"i was too drunk too be held responsible"
or
"i honestly cant remember what happened"
or
"it was consensual"
or
