Wow... you'd consider him even "possibly" ahead of Pearce in the halves?

And others were the losses against the Cows and Knights. Carney played out of his skin against the Broncos... not sure much of that was due to Anasta being at five-eighth. That was just about the game of the year I thought. (Only surpassed by the final against the Tigers by the field goal and extra-time with our season the line.)

I hope Todd plays because if he does it means he will be 100%. They won't play him at 99%. Happy for Anasta to stay at 5/8. Kheirallah didn't look up to NRL standard for a 5/8 against the Tigers and they had Mini injecting himself in too many times. We looked to have no idea in attack. Kheirallah is also a HUGE liability in defense.

      This.

If Kheirallah is to make his debut then i hope it is on the wing or FB. He is still growing into his body.

Massive leap for him from barely NYC material to one of top NYC try scorers, to playing 5/8th against a first grade team. If they are going to groom him as a 5/8th then i hope they give him time to grow and learn his trade in the lower grades.

I wouldn't mind seeing him cover our wingers or FB in case of an injury though.

I'd tweak the team a bit, just to maintain balance...

            1. Minichiello
            2. Perrett
            3. Kenny-Dowall
            4. Linnett
            5. Leilua
            17. Symonds / 19. Kheirallah (if Pearce doesn't play)
            7. Pearce
            8. Ryles
            9. Friend
            10. Kennedy
            6. Anasta12. Aubusson
            13. Myles

            14. Hargreaves
            15. Masoe
            16. Riddell
            11. Nuuausala

Just tweak the run-on team a bit. As good as Anasta is, he needs as much game-time as possible in the backrow. Rather than playing musical chairs with positions, I think it is best if we have a simple straight-swap if Carney is out. Leave Anasta in the backrow and Nuuausala on the bench, and have either Symonds or Kheirallah playing the whole game at five-eighth (Riddell can even slot in there if needed later on).

              1 Anthony Minichiello
              2 Sam Perrett
              3 Shaun Kenny-Dowall
              4 Kane Linnett
              5 BJ Leilua
              6 Braith Anasta
              7 Mitchell Pearce
              8 Jason Ryles
              9 Jake Friend
              10 Martin Kennedy
              11 Frank Nu-Uasala
              12 Mitchell Aubusson
              13 Nate Myles

              Interchange (from):

              14 Jared Waerea-Hargeaves
              15 Mose Masoe
              16 Mark Riddell
              17 Tom Symonds

              18 Tinarau Arona
That's plenty of motor up front imo, with JWH and Masoe to come on with the niggle and hard hitting.
Not convinced BJ is a winger although i havent seen his trial form so idk.
Hope Nuuausala and Aubs in particular don't shy away in doing the hard yards..

I am not a fan of Anasta at 6 but people considering guys like Symonds who has been out injured for most of the last 18 months and Kheirallah ahead of him cannot be serious.. This is not a game to be experimental and we need a player at 5/8 who has experience and can get the ball to the backs..

                  Anasta was the only option.

Symonds is now a backrower. Could be a good one if he stays injury free.

I am a big fan of Symonds but playing him at 6 would not be fair to the guy... I want him to be the long term replacement for Braith running down that left edge.

Tasi can't even make the run on side? What's happened, he barely got a run in the trials and now on the bench for Newtown? He's a class player.

Lol at the people wanting symonds and that other fella with no fg experience ahead of braith at 6. Anasta is the best back up option no doubt about it. His kicking and passing is great.

The Conn man must return ASAP. He was one of our best last year and, along with Mitch Aubusson, is one of the most underrated players in the comp.
