It all depends on the culture within the club. The swans for instance implement the leadership group extremely well, but it didn't happen over night. Some clubs seem to do it solely to put a (c) next to multiple players names to keep them at the club.

I tend to agree though, and see no issue with having a captain, and a vice-captain. Taking Anasta out of the picture I would be leaning towards Kennedy as club captain, and despite strong competition from Friend and Perrett, I would probably hand the VC to Pearce. Like it or not he is here to stay, is the organiser of our team on the field and for someone so young, has plenty of games under his belt.

Kennedy makes more sense as captain for his general demeanour both on and off the field. He captained junior teams, is professional, well educated and speaks well... not to mention his on field playing ability.

I like Kennedy a lot, but I believe a captain should be on the field at all times..

Kennedy may only play 50 mins a game.

Pearce will be the next club captain IMO...

I don't disagree, however in this day and age, so much more is expected from a Captain off the field and I think Kennedy is better equipped to handle those aspects. I don't see it as a major concern with he and Pearce jointly handling onfield responsibilities. Pearce is hopeless off the field when it comes to the media aspects etc. I want the Roosters to be viewed as the most professional club in the comp (along with the most successful) so taking those aspects into consideration I still believe Kennedy is the man.

          Same, same.
I remember from early our management talking about Marty as a future leader of men. He led the Aust Schoolboys team with honours.

Is this Macks most recent work? Pretty out of date.

Keen to see where player contracts are at.

Come on Mack, get on it.

                            Tinirau Arona

Unknown: Alofa Alofa, Glenn Dumbrell, Adam Henry, Mark Kheirallah, Issac Liu, Lama Tasi

Priority re-signings for this season in my opinion are obviously Cordner, Hargreaves and Perrett, followed by Leilua, Guerra and Arona. The rest, I am not too fussed over.

The way I see it, the first step is to build a team with the players contracted beyond this season.

                                1.
                                2.
                                3. Kenny-Dowall
                                4. Moga
                                5. Tagive
                                6. Maloney
                                7. Pearce
                                8. Kennedy
                                9. Friend
                                10. Masoe
                                11. Takairangi
                                12. Aubusson
                                13. Nuuausala

                                14. Mortimer
                                15. Symonds
                                16. Tasi (re-signed I believe)
                                17. Ailaomai/Bosden

Based on that, the re-signings at the end of this year should aim at the areas where we lack depth. Perrett is first and foremost, as he has lots of experience and is a proven winger at club and international level. Leilua is probably after Perrett, but also adds that utility value that earns him a contract extension too. Then looking at the forwards, Hargreaves and Cordner probably edge out Ailaomai and Bosden in terms of proven worth. Guerra was a standout on many occasions last year too.
