Our kicking game will be a major key to this game, it must be on song. Our grubbers need to find the in goal and not go dead, our bombs need to be pin point and contested, our long kicking game needs to find the ground every time (especially Anasta who has a bad habit of kicks going straight down the throat). Also our ball handling will need to be high standard, we have to complete our sets. Play the ball properly as archer will find any excuse to penalize us. We have to run at the little turd sandow all night!! Be right onto luke out of dummy half all night. Get up in burgess' face all night and not allow him loads of easy meters. Put a hard hit on taylor and sutton early in the game and they will go missing for the rest of the night!!

Work their forwards over, low errors (a worry as we are a high error team) and an effective deep kicking game. We don't have any real threats up the middle (Piggy could be one) with Carney out, so points have to come via either kicking or MAubs and/or SKD tearing it up down the left. I have massive concerns tbh, even with Souffs having a stack of non-match fit players I just sense an ambush, and after our forwards were manhandled by a smaller Wests pack (Kennedy the exception) I feel plenty will need to go our way for us to win this.

We can all name certain areas that will be key to winning Friday night, but the one true key for us to win will be our attitude! If we have the right attitude (enthusiasm, focus, hunger, desire etc etc) we will win no matter the attitude of LOL@$ouff$, or the refs poor decisions against us!!

The best strategy against Souths is to complete our sets.

They will do everything else to hand us the victory.

That has been the biggest key against Souths for years and will continue this season.

Luke is the key to Souths winning/losing. He needs to be shut down

spot on, on paper we have the better side, so if we are focused and turn up to play i think we win and win comfortably, but if we turn up thinking about anything else we might be in trouble, and thats when the handling errors and lazy defence starts coming into our game.

                    The major themes for me:
                    • A good kicking game - we need to turn around that pack repeatedly
                    • Earn attacking opportunities - go for it if it's on, but the longer we have the ball the greater chance of victory we will have.
                    • Work for each other. No heroes required.
                    • We need to turn up. I don't give a flying you know what about last year. Last year means nothing.
                    • Run good lines and hit holes
                    • Hold on to the ball

So pretty much everything you expect in a normal game. Keep it simple.

The one big thing I want out of this game win lose or draw is for us to get into good habits for the rest of the year. Communicate well, look for repeat sets, run good lines and work together. I don't want to see us go out of our way to be the high flying team we were last year. I'd prefer good football not exciting football.

I don't know why you front up each week and put yourself through the agony if that's what you honestly think

I'd go find a sport where I was happy with the officiating if I was you
                      Why do I bite?

Because I saw Archer still making shockers for both sides in the Foundation Cup.

Because of the momentum they can create with 3 - 4 penalties in a row, they will decide games. Until they become consistent with both sides, they will decide games.

The key is to stay in front or with them for the first 20 minutes of each half. They will come out pumped and hope to establish a lead.

Most of their key players haven't played any football for over 6 months. They will tire at the back end of each half.

If they get to a lead early on it may be difficult for us to reel them in. We won't have the luxury of our key player to play catch up football.

We need to stay with them early in each half and grind our way in front. Patience is the key.

Pearce needs to play a clever game. He needs to be composed, organising his forwards and kicking away from their back three giving the chase team time to pin them down.

If we can keep the penalties to a minimum (will be tough considering the stats over the past 5 years) and control the ball, we will have a greater chance of wearing them down.

                          Easts to win.
Good to see Pearce didn't let us down.

His most composed game in the tricolours.
