  • Looks like being a dead track tonight.

Which means a forwards' slog and a tight match.

We must complete our sets and our kicking game needs to be spot on.

I think the rain plays into Souffs hands, we've never been good in the wet.

    Chook.

I actually believe a grinding game will suit us.

Souffs will look to blow us away in the first 20 minutes. If we can withstand this then we are right in it.

A heavy surface will mean heavy legs for many of their players that may be underdone.

im not totally convinced that a dead track plays into souths hands just yet. Namely because they have poor ball handling skills on the best of days, wesser/talanoa/pettybourne/sutton, also we have a superior kicking game (even if we only have two options tonight). last year if memory serves correctly some of our best games were in the wet ie the warriors game in NZ and there was one other where we played sideline to sideline footy (titans?? maybe) and judging by the trial against the bdogs we still have no probs throwing it around.

A wet track should put a stop to any ideas of Carney being a last minute call up.

You don't want to be coming back from a groin injury in the mud.

Our kicking game is far superior to south's and this must be the biggest forward pack we've ever fielded.

a guy here assures me he's being "assessed this afternoon"

if they take the slightest risk with him they are farkin mad - it's only Round 1

              How good is that mail?

Because yesterday I was told he was definitely out.

the rumours started up late yesterday afternoon that Carney would replace Symonds on the bench and be used for around 30 minutes as the Bunnies started to get tired.

on wednesday Carney trained with this weekend's top 17 squad and then had a fitness test while Smith looked on.

its nothing more than Smith mind games, given the weather conditions there is no way Carney will be risked.

the money keeps flowing for the Bunnies tonight a good indication the insiders know Carney is not playing.

If he is "no doubt at all" for next week then he would be fit now. Groin injuries that have required surgery don't repair within a week.

I'm out west at the moment. Not raining here.

How bad is it back in the east?

BOM shows no rain all day in Sydney but they do forecast scattered showers and a chance of a storm later. So it is touch and go whether it will hit the SFS.

Just rained in Bronte 10 minutes ago, so it is fairly likely that the SFS has or will be hit before tonight.

                              Chook,

Weve got a couple of light showers that will blow away well before kickoff. the drainage there is superb and it will be as good and as dry as a night track gets.

We will smash those toofless carrnts.
