You can say what you want about referee bias but the real reason we keep losing penalty counts is poor discipline in the tackle. There is no doubt our guys continually push the envelope in terms of trying to slow down the play the ball. Why do it when you're 20 points in front. Very frustrating to watch. It was the reason why we almost threw away a game that was safely in the bag.

On the plus side we haven't lost the ability to snatch wins in the last 10 mins and Pearce's kicking game was superb.

Bottom Line we let them back in and made them look reasonable. When you turn over cheap ball and give away penalties, stupid kicks out on teh fool and short kick crap, even a retarded team like Souffs can score points.

Brian Smith is not a dirty coach so I don't agree much with that. Souffs were just as bad, if not worse. It doesn't look good for the game if Souffs are flogged after all the hype of the season start with all their big name buys, so the officials 'helped' them back into the game. If we ever get a fair go from the officials we'll do better than last year!

First game of the season, without carney, We looked great in the first half, second half Souths were camped on our line.

We will take the win, Move forward, get Carney back, and build off it.

Souths did get some BS penalties tho, Our players being elbowed in the head and they get the penalty..

Souths were smarter about it. The Roosters thought they had enough points and lost their discipline.

No point blaming the officials - the Roosters let the Rabbits back into the game, not the ref.

That said, besides the discipline, I thought we looked pretty bloody slick for a first game up without our best player.

First half was excellent, it's what we're capable of with discipline.

Second half shows how far we can fall when we don't have discipline.

The last 5 minutes showed the heart of our team and how we fight till the death.

We're in good shape.
