      Smithy's press conference on Friday.
"Today he had a little aggrevation which we want to see how it goes tomorrow but nobody's too worried about it and we think he will be ready to go next week."

To me that is a big concern. He doesn't sound 100% so imagine what could happen under game pressure for 80 minutes.

It's one of those injuries where it's really hard to know when you're 100% right as well.

All it takes is one big step off the left foot or one awkward tackle and it can flare up again and cripple him for awhile.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the 'groin' injury had something to do with the drinking drama and Brian Smiths punishment.

what i think he means is the aggravation part of the injury....he was supposedly right to play 2 weeks before round 1,then after the DUI it suddenly flared back up....i dont think thats the case though...i think he genuinely injured it again

If there is any doubt about Carney, I'd be very surprised if we risked him. And at this stage of the season I would hope that would be the case, even if we were playing the Dragons instead of a depleted Manly.

If TC does have a full medical clearance, I would consider playing him off the bench. I can hardly recall any player, who, after an interrupted off-season with no trials, has killed it over 80 minutes in their first run of the season. Carney can't be fully match fit and he will be rusty. Off the bench, however, his sheer talent could still make him a match winner. I guess the downside is that he gets less opportunity to reach full match fitness. But half a game and another couple of weeks training will still do him the world of good. And if necessary I would consider doing it again against the Bulldogs.

It should be noted that if we start Anasta at five-eighth, we still have a similar forward rotation. It's just that one of the pack starts in the halves instead of off the bench.

Watched that game with the brother in law who is a merge scum stain supporter and I can tell he is accustomed to his team getting the favour of the refs after his reaction to that incident you mentioned which was NO TRY every day of the week except when the merge scum are the beneficiaries. He felt the try was justified as a leveller for the titans' first try.
I didn't see the game, I'll look for a replay before saying anything.
The Dragons are just one of those teams righ now, and since they won the GF EVERYBODY seems to be a fan now? Grrrrr I have so many reasons to hate them...

Everyone knows he picked it up at the end of last year and tried to struggle through it before going under the knife in January. But groin injuries are farkedddd, Johnsy carried one for about two years and they so easily become chronic (osteitis pubis etc).

I reckon he should sit out for as long as it takes to get it 100% right, every time he looked like he was shaping up this year he's twinging it and pulling up sore.

I think we can get the points against Manly without him if Smithy tells JWH to pull his head in around the ruck and teaches our Captain to play the percentages when kicking under pressure.

What do you guys reckon? Anyone else as concerned as me or are Roosters' medico pretty confident he'll be over it soon?

How long did it take Freddy to get the groin right? A season? 2?

I don't think his groin is the problem. He looked fine scoring that slashing try against the Tigers.

As others have pointed out, it would be his mental state of mind.

I have a good feeling about this week.

Todd will be fine for the St Illawarra game.

Vasco, your as an astute judge as any but on that try he caught the ball running direct at the goal line with a bit of an arc to get around McKinnon who is close the the worst defensive fullback in the comp. Carney seems to struggle when changing direction sharply ie; when stepping or lateral movement in defense and it seems to me it is just not right.. However with his mental state, regardless of injury I would not be playing him and I don't think he should have played last week..

And here we are.....the one thing I said long before the season started.....DO NOT let Todd play if he isnt 100% and he have not been 100% all seasonl...and now he is out indeffinately.....

Fark me how hard was this to see coming, but by freddy we are going to pay for it now......

This is one time I did not want to be right.....
