    LOL

Unlucky in that all up mate.

Can somebody tell Anasta that when he is playing in the backrow, to stay out of the play making and just concentrate on running the ball.

Disagree. The halves and props need to take a good hard look at themselves after yesterday. They simply were not providing the direction and go forward, no point blaming wide running second rowers. We have enough big blokes in Ryles, FPN, Mose, JWH, and Myles to do the hard yards, and other than Mose and JWH they were not doing it. A lot of the blame lies with Pearce for not taking charge, but i think its a deeper issue. We clearly have a gameplan that focuses on dummy half running by outside backs, and multiple times in the past year it has been shown that when we are on the backfoot this is not suitable. Smith needs to develop a plan B which goes back to the forwards doing the required hard work.

no point in telling him - he'll never be a forward

he's been superceeded in the halves, shouldn't even be in first grade

god only knows why they extended him

          Have to agree.

The only reason I can see they re-signed him was for his influence off the field.

            He is not a forward

The quick players out of dummy half has somewhat been curtailed by the new ref's ruck interpretations this year, which have slowed down the play-the-ball.

I didn't blame the ref. Do you even know what a Compressed Defense is?

Pay him to be a coach (not that he would take it). I would rather Tom Symonds out there in his place.

                    Bingo

By dropping Tom we once again as a club show how to piss off a player and see him go to greener pastures.

I couldn't believe it when I saw Symonds sitting down in the players box.

                      Farking joke.

                        The problem is that Symonds like Anasta and Maubs is an 80 minute player more so than an impact player. With those 3 in the backrow we lose some impact up the middle that we need in support of our Front row. It is a shame Myles lost so much weight as he is more a player who is suited to playing tight and in the middle. As such our balance as alluded to in the title is not right.. Anasta for what he delivers is the imbalance in the backrow. Without him we could afford Symonds and Maubs to both play 80 minutes or at worst Symonds 65 minutes. given that there is a total of 240 minutes able to be played by the backrowers, I would split the time like this;

                        Aubusson - 80 minutes
                        Symonds - 70 minutes
                        FPN - 50 minutes
                        Myles - 40 minutes

With Myles playing a further 20 minutes at Front row. Don't even ask me for the front row rotation... Anasta throws out the balance in our team not to mention taking too much salary cap space.. I will leave it now to Mack to give the rotations for all 3 grades across the 27 backrowers on our books over the next 5 seasons.

Myles is the one who is most in trouble with his form, but deserves his
spot for another couple of weeks on his past performance.

Brain, you once again live up to your name.

I am amazed at all the comments here. We lost the game because we dropped a ridiculous amount of ball which kept them in the game. Foran then stepped up in the last 20 and set up the win but they wouldn't have been close to us if we just showed some discipline.

On the plus side, if we control the ball, there is still plenty of skill and power in our game.

Discipline is the only ingredient that we need to add.

For the hundreds of posts on the Chookpen over the last 24 hours, that sentence by itself sums up what happened yesterday.
