Not sure why Smith would have picked Riddell straight up in the first place. You'd think he would have to prove himself in Newtown just to get back to NRL speed. If we didn't have a proper first grade replacement for Friend like last year, he should have chosen a player from the Jets first and allowed Piggy to get into match fitness, but hey! I'm not a coach.

You need open your mind a bit. I didn't mention that Symonds is to play at dummy half. There are players that can take on the role. When Friend is tackled, does someone jump in at dummy half? So for the sake of 20 minutes, train someone there be it Anasta seeing he does little else in attack when Pearce and Carney take control or train someone else. Anasta has a good passing game and can make vital tactical decisions from that position. With Anasta at dummy half for 20 minutes, Sydmonds can take on Anasta's usual role who I believe can do a better job. Piggy offers little in attack and defense let alone make vital tactical decisions from that position. He also occupies a bench spot that can be utilised more to our advantage.

That is actually his weak point.

Read again. Train someone up for it. Stanley did a better than amateurish job yesterday and he is a gun centre. First time I can remember him taking on the dummy half role. When he took the role the Dragons put on their 10 points.
