Ability in the air and from dummy-half, and power close to the tryline, is the case for BJ on the wing. His lack acceleration is the case for him in the centres. And the fact that we are already building a store-room for surplus second-rowers is the case for keeping him in the outside backs.

BJ is going to be awesome.
Anyone who saw him debut last season knows that.
Just needs some games under his belt.
Shame one of them was a Grand Final. His reads in that game were frankly terrible.
I'm into Linnet as well. He's fast as balls. A touch of the Skinny Byrne's about him though. And we all know how 'that' nightmare unfolded.

have noticed something extra in his runs in just these first 2 games
leave him on the wing, and let him develop
it'll pay off handsomely

The team we had on the weekend will beat anyone on best form. If we are to improve the team solely on personnel my three in order would be.
1/ Riddell for Watts
2/ Anasta for Symonds
3/ Perrett for Carney
Each of the replacements offer more in attack, defense, speed and smarts.
Whoever thinks Linnett should be replaced is off their head.
Not sure about Perrett not being able to defend bombs. While Mini was out, how often did he take bomb successfully? He is very safe BUT like ANYONE else, he can drop some.

He is doing his job and I have no problem but I feel this year we have better options than we did last year if we are to have our best team on the field; same for Anasta. If Carney can match him for hit ups, there is your better option. His defense and speed are far better. Our attacking and defensive options would also be better if we had a speedster on that wing.

Facts are were were out muscled all game by Manly. They compressed their defense all game and we didn't adapt to suit.
Perrett has got nothing to do with the Manly game. Many have been saying this since last year. Yes he is a great dummy half runner. All other aspects of his game are inferior for a modern day winger. ie. defense, speed, defending kicks. If Carney can match him for hit ups then IN MY OPINION (it is an opinion like those that want Conn in, Riddell out, Anasta out, Symonds in etc etc etc) Carney is a better option.
There are too many emotions happening because of the clubman and great guy he and Anasta and Mini and so on. How many supporters questioned why Lopini was in the Grand Final team? PLLLLLLENTY. Yes they are all super guys and great clubmen but there comes a time when a younger and better player becomes available in your squad. If you can improve your run on squad, emotion should not come into it.
Hypothetically had we purchased Uate and Morris, would anyone care how nice a guy Perrett was?

What if we bought Slater, or Thurston, would anyone care about Mini and Pearce? There is no hypotheticals in here when you have a Cap. The fact is Perrett gives his all like Mini. One day there will come a time, and that's not a hypothetical.

Justin Carney hasn't even proved himself in fg yet...and is coming back from multiple serious injuries...everyone should cool their jets. He doesn't have a rep as being an amazing defender or being super quick so I don't get why people think he will cover perceived weaknesses in our backline.
Perrett is a current NZ international (world champion team). Everybody ease up.

If we had signed Jonathan Thurston (the player the other braindead fool named Ricky said was a reserve grader at best) in 2003 when he was going cheap then we would never have lived through the Finch horror.
Just thinking about that mistake makes me want to borrow Peter Gow's sissors.
