2000 game thread has me nostalgic.

Best Memories
- Freddy's intercept/cut-out pass vs knights in '98 semi
- Diamond's entire fullback performance in '00 GF
- Fitzy's 90m intercept try vs Knights in '02 semi to hit lead in 2nd half
- Freddy's 40/20 after headbutt allowing us to hit the lead again in '02 GF
- Freddy lifting the trophy in '02 "I love youse all for making me feel this good"
- Anasta's field goal v Tigers '10 qual final

Worst Memories
- Craig Field's 80th minute drop goal in prelim final '97
- THAT tackle on todd byrne by scott sattler '03 GF
- Crocker's knock-on going for try at the death vs bulldogs in '04 GF
- Brett Morris being a thousand metres over the sideline in '10 GF

Worst
- Entire GF against Pemriff... beaten in the rain by a rubbish team that unexpectedly got lucky on the night after us absolutely killing the whole season (sure they were minor premiers, but I always saw them as lucky and just that.) I was stuck at Melbourne airport watching it at a bar because the planes were late. Everybody else just walked past as if nothing was on the tele...

Grrrrrr... nightmares still I swear!

& breaking his neck in 1962 finishing his career..

For me 1975 Grand Final against the Dragqueens, & the 2000 Grandfinal. also
beating the Tiger last season to get to the Grand Final.

Best memory - a weird one.

Ivan Cleary kicking a goal in pissing rain to win against Brisbane in 1996.

Worst memory.

Quentin Pongia having a brain snap against Parra in the opening round at Telstra Stadium. He flew out of the line to job a Parra forward (probably that bald prick Michael Vella) and let in a try.

I just think that summed up a lot about the forwards we churned through.

Spending 2 Gfs looking for the 5/8 that got us to the GF, but was no where to be seen

Best - 2002 prelim final against the broncs.
- 2002 GF... obviously
- 35 nil against the dogs in 03. minus the riots in the crowd
- Freddys final regular season game against Parra, getting pelted by hail in the chookpen but not caring as we watched the all time greatest say goodbye on a win.

Worst - from the moment we announced signing chris anderson until he up & quit.

Lots of great memories from the pen, before i moved to Melbourne. There was a game against the storm when the chookpen was still on the other side of the stadium & the whole pen was giving it to the storm fans, all in good fun & one of the most enjoyable days at the footy i can remember.

Best

- 2000 Grand Final, after all the ups and downs of following them I was so excited my team had made it
- The perfect 1st half against Newcastle in 03 finals, Morls knocking Mad Dog into next year and the game being over after half an hour
- Anytime Andrew Walker touched the ball as a Rooster - the closest thing I have ever seen to poetry in motion. His combination with Freddie was the best I have ever seen

Worst

- 5 grand finals in 10 years, 4 miserable trips back from the Toxic Avenger (Homebush) in dead silence, absolutely devastated everytime
- Fitzy playing 80 minutes a week making 30+ tackles, 20 plus hitups and kicking the goals year after year and being despatched a wooden spooner with the stench of corruption hanging over the match
- Mark Murrays Roosters teams, the players hated the coach and everyone hated the end product, awful times

Best:
*The 52nd minute onwards of the 2000 Preliminary final against the Knights where we were outnumbered 4-1 on our home turf- and the Joey Johns Dummy Spit that followed.

*Beating Brisbane in the finals in 2002 when Bonnetti got smashed by Civonocieva's head in the first tackle of the match and we aimed up and won.

*Beating the dogs by 30 in 2003 round 5? when they were undefeated and boasting about being the "true" premiers of 2002.

*The Tigers final last year- jeez just the atmosphere from the 70th minute onwards was just crazy- the game poised so delicately, and to see SKD get the intercept and set off- watching it unfold was just great. (and to be there to see the utter despair on some asshole tigers fans was priceless)

*A game at Marathon stadium where we came back from 15-0 to win. The attack clicked and watching Sing and a speedy Ricketson, and Graham Appo carve em up

* Morleys hit on Walker (halfback) against souffs- just comprehensively smashed the poor bastard into tomorrow.

*2003 WCC against St Helens. Attacking brilliance on display.

Watching Ron Giteau "around the corner" kick when everyone else was toe-punting. Made me choose the Roosters to follow as my team.

Roosters fullbacks. I have always idolised them. My two favourites are Gary Wurth and Mike Eden.

Freddy Fittler era of success

2010 - Didn't win GF but we had some fantastic wins and Todd Carney carved up.

Worst

Hugh Magahan's '87 team getting beaten by Canberra in Major Semi. Devastated.

Worst: every single game that Fathead Vautin wore our strip.

Best: 2002 and a magic game in the 80s I recall from my childhood when we beat Souths like a drum, Dad bought me a flag and ball and I got to keep the change to buy footy cards.
