If you think this incident was the reason we lost then you are backing the wrong horse. We were the more dominant team when Masoe came on. He had that player for the final 5 minutes but put him on 5 minutes earlier because we were desperate to get to their end of the field. I think Pez's absence was of little consequence. Our defense held up and we had dominant field position.

My only problem with Smithy's interchanging is he is using only three players for 60 minutes of the game. That is 60 minutes shared between our forwards who I think struggle with long minutes this early in the season. You are shooting yourself in the foot before the team runs on.

Leaders don't consistenly makes mistakes nor are they ill disciplined.
What I find rather ironic is that our self-proclaimed forward leaders in Ryles and Myles have both been surpassed in attitude and form by most of our young guys this season. Myles is lucky in that he is still young. Ryles isn't so lucky. He does not have age on his side, and there are younger players that are equal or better than him available to us. At this stage, Ryles does not make my top 17. If he has a sook about going to Newtown then I am afraid to say that his services are no longer required by this great club. No player is bigger than the club, especially a player who was given a lifeline and is 32 years of age.

Calm down Shamus, you're getting all worked up again. Remember what Dr.Elliott said to you ? I'll refresh your memory "Shamus...if it's going to upset you, don't read it".

Especially when two of them are manufactured forwards not renowned for doing the hard stuff in the middle that you need for the majority of the game, and Kennedy, Masoe and FPN aren't long minute players by any means. What I wouldn't do for a Tolman at the moment....

Totally agree on the Ryles issue. That bloke has a shorter fuse than me. We had a sniff at victory yesterday before the Retard Ryles Triple-Play. Idiotic penalty for hair pulling, anger management penalty for telling the ref to **** off and then he knocks on. I want him out. Surely Conn or Tasi can take his place.

P.S. I do agree that Idris should cut his ridiculous dreadlocked piggytails off. However, Ryles had quite a handful. What did he expect? I am so tired of watching the guy protest his innocence every time the ref calls him on his crap.

Not a lot of Saints fans liked him much either. He served his purpose last year for us, but at the moment I think that the young guys have been leading the way. Which makes him just another forward.

                  How quick things change.

Last year Ryles is arguably our best prop.

This year, after 3 rounds, apparantly he needs a stint in Newtown.

He hasn't enjoyed the best start of the season but if you look at the average age of our forwards, he definately needs to be there.

Ryles is not getting dropped, nor should he be.

Ryles is one of the least effective props in the NRL

Last year is last year. This year is this year. If you're good enough you're old enough.

Kennedy is the only prop who looks like he can play decent minutes apart from Ryles.

JWH and Mose are just impact props at the moment.
