Myles has always looked sluggish running onto the ball. His merits in attack are his leg drive once tackled and his ability to sometimes get away a nice offload. But his geatest attribute is that his tackling technique and timing are superb. Despite his not being huge, this allows him to hurt guys and enforce turnovers. Our current rotation isn't seeing him play massive minutes, and the work load is being shared around quite well, so we haven't really had a need to mine his stamina and work ethic. Myles doesn't really have the ability to make a bigger impact with shorter game time. He is just reliable for grinding away for however long he is on the field in the same solid fashion.

Anyone else notice that Myles can sometimes take a relative eternity to get up and play the ball after one of his half hearted hit ups? There is definitely something wrong with him."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

I commented last year about him doing this.It is just a bad habit he seems to have developed...

Or else coach Smith knows to be patient with Myles and said rocket won't be forthcoming as it might backfire? Either way, I hope it gets fixed."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

Watch Nate pick his game up as SOO approaches. With the plethora of forwards QLD have got this year he'll need to be on top of his game to warrant selection. Atm he's being overshadowed by the likes of Kennedy, JWH and Mose (even though the latter two don't qualify).
I might see what he's paying as a first try scorer and MoM double this week.
Chook.

While Myles may have looked out of sorts at certain times this season, I would strongly urge anyone doubting his passion on the field at the moment to watch a replay of the period against the Tigers directly after Mini was sin-binned. At this stage, with 10 minutes to go and the score at 18-6, the game was not over. Directly after the Tigers' penalty tap, Myles made three consecutive tackles including an absolute bell-ringer on Fifita. The next time the Tigers got the ball, after J. Carney's disallowed try, Myles again made three consecutive tackles during their set. There were a lot of tired-looking players on the field by this stage, and prior to Todd's try, Myles' defence was a contribution to sealing the win for us. He has never been a glamorous player, but that kind of defence is exactly the sort of thing that makes him valuable.

There were some games early last season where he looked leaner and his running game was much better than it is now but we have others fulfilling that role. I think he plays his role in the team and he will only get better like a few of the others have over the last couple of weeks.
