looks good, similar to the team that beat the tigers, good to see phil graham is back form injury and available, but i can't believe conn isn't in the 17!!!! he was one of our best and would have thought he'd be in front of ryles and riddell

Unbelievable depth. Bodes well for the middle of the season when injuries might mount up.

Bit of a worry to see Maubs and J.Caney on the same side becasue height and up against Inu i think.

maybe so, but I can't have him over any of the three quarters listed there, or Linnett when fit

he's an injury fill in player in first grade at best

The way he played last year in NZ you could have sworn he was suffering jetlag..

Not to be overly critical, but I would have considered:

                    3. Aubusson

                    12. Symonds

                    16. Linnett

                    OR

                    3. Linnett

                    12. Aubusson

                    16. Symonds

...at the expense of Riddell. Again, the fact is that we should have our 17 best players in the first grade team, and I personally rate Linnett ahead of Riddell (and Graham, I might add). Conn is unlucky as we have an overload of available forwards, but he should be first picked if any prop misses out or gets injured. I would also be picking Arona if Myles or Nuuausala is unavailable - he has trimmed down into a very mobile but hard-working lock.

Strong line up = no excuses.

We will lose Conn. He's too good not to be in first grade and fielding offers.

                      Chook.

Hopefully Symonds has cemented a spot in the squad.

He is a lot like Chad Robinson.

On the other hand, we could always promise him Jason Ryles' spot next year...always a possibility, to groom him for that role.

But at the same time, is he a good enough prop to lead the pack with young monsters Masoe, Hargreaves and Kennedy?

His style certainly complements the guys named. Conn is a hard working prop (I actually think he has a little more than Chad Robinson). All the guys we have coming through are more explosive players.

In keeping our young blokes, I don't think we will be able to attract a prop to lead the pack to replace Ryles. We didn't miss his leadership on the weekend. I think Conn would be a perfect fit.

I am surprised Smithy has changed a winning formula that produced easily our best game of the season. I can understand FPN coming back as he has been one of our best forwards but Ryles is down on form and should prove himself at Newtown like Conn had to. Conn's game last week does not warrant him being dropped. Arona the other very unlucky one.

If fit, I can't believe Linnett is not in our top 20. Something fishy seems to be happening with no news about injury and not being selected in the top 20 or Newtown last week.
