      It's a quality side.

The bench is probably the only spot for Ryles now if he must be selected. We need to give some of the young guys the responsibility of starting up front, since Ryles will retire sooner rather than later. Long term gain over short term success I say. And if we can avoid buying a new forward leader once he retires then we are going to be in a much better position.

If Riddell gets used like he did last week, then he has a spot for much of the season, at least until Watts is fully rehabilitated. I'd like to give him 10 minutes at the end of the first half and the first 5 of the second half though, so Friend gets a good half hour break.

I'd like to see Leilua eventually move back to the bench or into the centres once Perrett returns. Carney, if he maintains form, is a must on one wing while Perrett needs to be on the other. Leilua doesn't get the ball in his hands anywhere near as much as he should, given his game breaking ability, and would be far better suited either in Aubusson's spot (who can move back to the second row), or coming off the bench as an extra forward once Watts is back and Riddell goes.

It's a start though and the side is heading in the right direction.

Ryles is struggling this year, Arona and Conn looked good last week, Id be sticking with them.
