Stats Insider: Refs' crackdown working wonders full article in link...

It’s apparent the NRL’s new referees bosses have immediately stamped their authority on the game, with players toeing the line and penalty numbers dropping significantly on the same period last year despite some major rules crackdowns.

    ....

Stats Insider’s other interesting penalty observations are:
    - Most dangerous throws – Rabbitohs
    - Most hands in play-the-ball – Panthers
    - Most high tackles – Eels
    - Most hold-downs – Panthers
    - Most late tackles – Warriors
    - Most markers not square – Eels
    - Most offside inside 10 – Dragons
    - Most stealing ball – Broncos
    - Most starts/restarts – Panthers
    - Most scrums – Knights
    - Most leg pulls – Broncos
    - Most second tackle – Broncos
    - Most grapples – Roosters

Penalties conceded Rounds 1-4 (2010 in brackets)
    18: Rabbitohs (30), Warriors (31)
    20: Titans (30)
    21: Broncos (19), Sharks (29)
    22: Cowboys (25), Dragons (23)
    24: Bulldogs (22), Wests Tigers (28)
    25: Eels (28)
    26: Sea Eagles (33)
    27: Storm (31), Knights (27)
    28: Raiders (24)
    31: Roosters (22)
    35: Panthers (25)

lmao yer....significant drop.....for everyteam except the roosters (and penrith but they don't count)

      TOK-you have disgraced yourself.
youve shown to all that views this site that youre a prized f u c k wit.
that spews ltd has no credibility, that is a given.
The next time i see Neil Breen-who doesnt share your opinion of our establishment-I will mention that you are a troll and bringing you vindictive opinions on easts and its followers, to the our sites.
You are an embicile and i picture you masturbating every time someone is critical of youre opinions.
I will no longer allow myself to cater to your jollies, and btw -Kogarah Oval is that way>>>>>>>Fuc k nut

Jims food is open to criticism. Who cares if he's an easts supporter. hE OWNS A COMMERCIAL BUSINESS THAT SEEKS to profit off the Roosters by employing disgraced players and then telling the world about it. His cafe is a poor example of a cafe in Surry Hillls but probably would look upmarket in redfern. I personally wouldn't spend my money in there especially now that he has showed his bogan wares by threatening assault. Think about his wife and kids

I think the thread title says it all. I mean to say an official will cost us before a ball has been kicked is a joke. The officials are a joke and need to be sorted out, but I am sure all clubs think the same.

The same whining went on after the GF, and the same brothers in arms are always ready to pat eachother on the back. Get back in the Chookpen.

If we lie on a player for a split second less than a Dragon we concede the penalty but they don't. They can get away with forward passes but we don't. That reminds me of the Bulldogs game last year where we were called for a couple of forward passes that puzzled even the commentators. The Dragons have a habit of being offside for the first 2 or 3 tackles and then get onside before the ref calls the penalty (watch it closely) but we get called.

It may not be corrupt but this is what is frustrating to most roosters supporters. Why weren't the tigers penalised when Myles/Masoe (I think) was pushed when getting up to play the ball but the tigers copped a penalty a few minutes later for a lesser infringement?

Why do we need to earn the trust of the refs? They should be neutral and show no bias for or against any team. Yet we seem to cop a lot less of the 50/50 calls.

God should also have given me more hair, a better singing voice and some dance skills, but hey....life isn't fair.

Another thing to consider. I'm yet to hear coach or players come out and say 'that we have worked very hard on our discipline and we are going to make a conscious effort to work in better with the refs'.

Yes, Smith criticised JWH in an indirect way, but if there is a major issue there then surely Smith would call Harrigan and Raper and instigate a 'clear the air' meeting. Even if they haven't done anything regarding discipline, the simple act of making a statement regarding it, brings it to the forefront of the referees mind. He may think twice about blowing a penalty that he would normally blow. 'Hey that should be a penalty against the Roosters, but I know they're trying hard to fix up their discipline so I will cut them slack'.

People keep saying that refs shouldn't be biased but unfortunately, they are and there's not much we can do about it, except try and work around it.

Who are the biased too? Obviously your opinion is Not us! People say St George! I suppose the Dogs think Melbourne! and so on. They have opinions on teams, no doubt, but blatantly biased is far fetched.

Biased is the wrong word. You described it better when you said they have opinions on teams and thats the point I made on the previous page. They have an opinion that we lack discipline so they look more closely at us then they do other teams, hence we give away more penalties.

No the Dogs think it's the Dragons too. As do the other 14 clubs.

Sorry if we are still embarrassing you in front of your friends and colleagues

Off to hang a slash out the front of my house. Catch you later.
