  • Another thing that I noticed a whole lot more tonight is that we really struggle in the air. It makes me very, very nervous when a side puts a bomb up...

The thing that really shits me about it is that we have the halves who have the kicking game to get a repeat set, and we could easily put 50 on a side if we just wear them out, yet they never seem to be trying for the repeat set. They are always going for the points. Sometimes you just need to tire a side. Especially a side like the Warriors who will just chuck it in if they have to tackle more than three or four sets in a row.

Bombs are 50/50 whether you have tall guys or not. I think they did good with the bombs by letting the opposition team go for it and either knock it forward or getting them as they come down. Contesting them is more favourable to the attacking side IMO.

I think in our case it's more 70/30. And even when the contest should be in our favour it's not 50/50. At least in my eyes. It's a relatively minor point about tonight's performance but could pose big problems throughout the year.

Nothing new in this match...more seemingly-biased refereeing against the Roosters...and just look at that pass ruled forward when it was nothing like even close to forward, when our player on the end of the pass was off to score a try.

                        • Hi Guys
My name is Sally, long time lurker first time poster.
Carney is a very talented player, but he played like a complete p*ssy against the Warriors. He was petrified to get tackled,he continually threw the ball the second it came into his hands. He did the same thing when they met the Dragons for the first time last year.He reminds me of Mason, his testicles rise & shrink depending on the size of the opposition.

This team was outmuscled time & time again last season & the same thing is happening this season.Am I the only one that sees that we need more muscle on the paddock? How this club let a real man like Morley go is a mystery to me. The Roosters need more Morely’s & less Piggies.

                          • I can't argue with the points you made sally.
The Roosters pack is too lightweight at the moment and definitely gets outmuscled by some teams.

                            • I don't think it's our forwards being outmuscled.

                              It's discipline accross the park.

What is the root cause of the lack of discipline? Could it be frustration, poor coaching, being outmuscled or simple stupidity? I see the lack of discipline as a manifestation of other issues, not the main issue itself.
