    No he didn't.

    And no he is not

Marty lived for about 7 years in QLD from age 9/10 to about 17. He believes his game was developed up there and wants to rep Qld, when he gets a chance. He also represented QLD while living there. He moved to Matraville Sports High in year 12, I think

Under the eligibility rules, he qualified for Qld

Rothfield's article mentioned the period you of 2 years in QLD. Not surprisingly, his article lacked any factual information. Ritchie produced an article a day or 2 later which was factually correct

I find it an embarrassment to Rugby League..

      What is the rule?

Is it where you were born? No

Is it where you played your first game of RL?

Is it where you played your first senior game of RL?

Is it where you played your first professional game of RL?

Is it where you went to school?

Is it just who you prefer to play for?

I don't mind any of these to be the rule as long as there is a simple rule?

      So what is the rule?

It's where you were first registered to play I believe and in D9's case that was in QLD.

        Chook.

Is that registered to play any form of RL? Schoolboys or clubs?

If that is the case it seems like a clear-cut rule to follow..

Why do they talk about people qualifying for this reason or that?

Its not but that is not the rule when determining eligibility for origin, unfortunately

Well he says he feels like a Queenslander

If he has to go through life feeling like a left handed, les bian, wheelchair riding, three headed dogs ar se with a hangover and drink XXXX just to play in his desired SOO team then good luck to him

It's a moot point as he's passionate about QLD not NSW, and we don't want another "Terry Hill" drama leading into this series.

                      Chook.

Last time I checked, Martin Kennedy plays for the Roosters.

I haven't watched State of Origin since Roy and H.G. left Triple J so as long as he isn't injured, I don't care who he plays for.

It is not a "moot" point Chook. Surely there is a rule in place, otherwise it should just be called "State of Preference"...

Like Madduke above, I don't care much for SOO either..

He's miles away from being Origin ready for any state
