Great player group without structure, structure is part of all sucess. [let the forwards dominate and play off the back of that? doesn't work, we need a basic structure that all players can go back to when the game plan isn't working].melbourne have it, dragons have it,manly and the broncos too! where's ours smithy??????????

Yeah what is our typical game plan?
1) Keep passing it right and as wide as possible.
2) Offload whenever you think there might be some chance regardless.
3) Hope for penalties.
4) Pearce and Carney can do the magic when it comes to try scoring.
This tactic works quite often and if they are weak on their edges, we'll run amok. The problem is when we come up against at least 50% of teams they:
a) Get less penalties than us.
b) Have a solid left side and know our tactic, so negate the plan.
c) Have Pearce and Carney marked out of the game.
We need more structured brilliance. Pardon the Yawnion comparrison, but we are starting to remind me of Randwick!! They have this knack for hiring Wallabies whose individual brilliance dominates the other teams (who consist mostly of soft private school boys.) They always seem to lose against Uni in the GF because although they have passion, heroics and some individual brilliance (USUALLY IN PLAYMAKING ROLES!!! Beale and Mitchell right now) they lack structure.
Relying on individuals to spark up some brilliance isn't good enough in the modern game of rugby league... those tactics can be left for Coogee Oval wannabes IMO...Last edited by ism22; 04-12-2011, 10:11 PM.
