exactly, as much as we want Tom to stay at the club being a local junior prospect and all, if he demanded 250k at this stage.. sorry but im not going to meet that target

Wes Naiqama and the other indigenous peoples would not be too excited about their prospects under ole Handshake Bill

Coach Smith does not like red hair, this is why Ronald McDonald will never be offered a contract and if he continues to keep Tom at No18 then the poor guy will no doubt be tempted by a bigger salary and atleast some game time elsewhere.....

What I have heard about Tommy, he would ONLY leave if 'pushed'

I am confident that management are not blind to Symonds' playing abilities. If they do let him go there will be a good reason for it such as injury risk or commanding too much money.

I have heard Smith has a big wrap on Symonds.

Or because we have too many second-rowers. Symonds is definitely an exciting young player, and the rumoured interest from the Knights is only the first sign of the fact he is bound to attract some pretty healthy offers. I think the long-term plan with Maubs should determine whether we are prepared to make a really substantial offer. I doubt Symonds next contract will be for peanuts, and if he is going to bite into our salary cap, he has to be a serious contender for a starting spot with all troops available. That is a bit of an ask if Maubs goes back to the second-row, given that realistically, it would be extremely unlikely that Anasta would ever be dropped. For depth we already have FPN, Cherro, Guerra, Cordner. Cherro is the wild card in it all: every bit as promising as Symonds, and if he makes a successful comeback we will definitely have a glut in the one position. But of course there has to be a real doubt about that happening.

That is correct but he's still an idiot for not selecting him.
