ROOSTERS boss Steve Noyce yesterday declared Nate Myles was going nowhere, with the Maroons star under lock and key until his contract expires at the end of 2012.
And Noyce says he has no plans to quiz the back-rower over his meeting with Gold Coast CEO Michael Searle.
The Daily Telegraph busted Myles and his manager Gavin Orr meeting with Searle at Sydney's Sheraton on the Park hotel on Thursday, in what shapes as the first steps in a move to the holiday strip.
And while Searle has made no secret of interest in the 25-year-old, Noyce insists the back-rower is staying at Bondi.
"Nate's here for another 20-odd months. Well, he's certainly contracted for another 20 months or so," the Roosters CEO said. "Our focus is on that more than anything else."
Asked if the club would consider an early release should Myles make a request, Noyce said: "You're getting ahead of yourself. He's contracted here for 21 months or whatever it is."
On a whirlwind day of player meetings, just days after locking up Jamal Idris for five years, Searle spoke with Myles, sacked Bulldogs prop Ryan Tandy and their managers, Orr and Sam Ayoub, at the Sheraton on Thursday afternoon in what was supposed to be a secret rendezvous.
A frustrated Myles and Orr disappeared into the underground carpark and then left the hotel after being spotted by The Daily Telegraph.
Noyce said the Roosters had no problem with Myles meeting Searle.
"Under the NRL rules that are in place now, players are able to have their meetings," he said.
"We know that they happen. Sometimes I guess people find out about them and maybe sometimes people don't."
