An assault is ANYTHING that could scare somebody, that or ANY unwelcome physical contact. The cops always trick women into writing statements that say "oh he did some kind of soft physical contact..." they trick the women by saying "oh it isn't serious... no gaol or anything... we'll just have a talk with him and sort stuff out."

As soon as they get a signature on a statement they turn around and arrest the guy, lock him up and ignore the woman because all she'll say is "FARK YOU!!!! YOU PROMISED YOU'D JUST TALK WITH HIM!!!! HE DID NOTHING I WANNA WITHDRAW MY STATEMENT!!!!"

"He assaulted you ma'am... we'll take it from here..."

      ---

Not saying he did nothing, but an arrest these days means jack sh!t... the cops will do it is a girl says a guy yelled at him (which they'll then keep pushing so they can prove an assault somehow... as soon as he says "I yelled" he's gaaaaaaaawn.)

I hope FFS that Watts wasn't stupid and cowardly enough to do a "real" assault, but franted theres no battery I doubt it is serious.
Mate you are a tool, the cops always trick women into making these statements hey? And this stupid comment is based on what? That is one of the dummest comments I have read anywhere, and in case you are wondering why I sound so offended its because I am a cop and have been for well over 20 years. Grow up to yourself you idiot and think for a second, why any cop would trick anyone into making a statement, what benefit would it provide them in this instance? Your comments are typical of todays society where no one wants to take the blame for their own actions and give excuse after excuse for any wrong doing.

That is irrelevant, why not bring up OJ Simpson? We cannot control what happens to players from other clubs and yes Bird was sacked... **** Watts off now, I could not care less if 10 clubs queue up to sign him. Let him be there problem.. This is exactly what I said a few days ago.. We thought we could sign every rat bag out there and expected that they would magically turn into angels.. you reap what you sow... Peter O'Sullivan should be top of the list of those who goes.

Wasn't B Smith brought in to instil discipline. Worked in 2010 but back to old days now

Time to get tough. If Watts guilty, rip up his contract. If Carney even had a sip of alcohol, same deal. Goodbye.

Many years ago I witnessed a police officer trying to do exactly what chism said What happened was the girl attacked her boyfriend The boy friend defended himself without harming the girl As this was unfolding the police went by came back and arrested the guy The girl was then saying he did nothing but protect himself from me as I attacked him The police then told her no he assaulted you we are going to charge him. At that point I walked across the rd and backed the girls story up. If I did not happen to see it.This guy would be charged and no doubt more pressure applied to the woman to say he
So dont kid yourself that that sort of thing does not happen in your line of work Finally your comments show that police back each other up no matter what. Plenty of polce been caught out for lying and fabricating stories Only the other day I read about some guy who was charged for resist arrest being let off as it was all on camera and he did not resist arrest at all It was also found the police had to re read the initial staement to get the story staright. Now why would a police officer do that ?

                  .
                  .
I would be silly to think that there are not shit cops, who do the wrong thing and take their powers too far, just like there are shit mechanics, shit teachers and shit footballers for that matter. What annoyed me about the original post was it implied that cops are always pushing women into making statements against their partners in regards to assaults, it was the "always" part that upset me. And yes I do defend Cops, but not to your "no matter what" extent.

                    Oh please!

'Holding court' at a pub [and we don't even know where he and Watts were], drinking beer, and 'draped' in beautiful young women hanging on your every word...is not an easy lifestyle to leave when you don't have a girlfriend and are trying to work life out alone, in between court and the principal's office appearances.

What if he went out with Watts, his flatmate?
                    He's entitled to go out.
Does he even have any friends left?
He could be forgiven for thinking the whole world hates him.

...and he didn't intend to have a drink of alcohol, but when one was put in front of his eyes, he couldn't resist...then later thought "OMG, what am I doing, I shouldn't have done that, I was a fool, I must try harder"?

Then went home and went to bed or so it would seem. Unlike Watts who went home and beat up a girl.

                      • I remember hearing Paul Whelan, the then Police minister reply to a question about the English police commissioner Peter Ryan.

He said something along the lines of "if you want a clean police force, then you will have accept they will be ineffectual."

I took that to mean for all the wrongdoing that people like Roger Rogerson and Graham "Chook" Fowler did, they kept the peace.

What this has to do with the current situation, I don't know, I just felt it was better to write it than to risk a Libel allegation.

When Tiger was a 'wild man', high on booze, bar girls in the VIP room at the strip club, holding court...unbridled lust and debauchery...he was unbeatable on the 'field'.
                          Now he can't win anything.
