If he cannot accomplish that, then he should look into another line of work, one with a lower profile.

Here's a statement from the club:

Early today Sydney Roosters contracted player Anthony Watts was charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm.



The matter will go to court on Thursday 21 April, 2011.



In relation to the charge, Sydney Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce said that the seriousness of the charge underlined the need to ensure that all the facts were established before any judgment was made by the Club.



The Club is aware Anthony had been out with fellow Sydney Roosters teammate Todd Carney and will conduct a thorough investigation and provide a report to the NRL within the next 48 hours.

A new precedent needs to be set. In this case it should be a non-issue. Those are serious charges. And they don't often give out temporary AVO's. If the allegations are true then there should be no question.

Did Cherrington actually hit his missus, he threatened her then threatened to harm himself, even Sandow got offf scott free for threatening someones life, is it differant because its a woman not a amn he was threatening???

Anthony Toupo woudn't hurt a fly when he was at the club....even when he should've.

Its hard to find people with the right balance of aggression off the field AND on the field.

Not sure what the answer is, but this sort of thing is a problem for the sport - not just our club
