Noyce on Monday again said he was disappointed that Carney had found himself in trouble yet again
What trouble / Am I missing something.
More importantly:
However, Noyce said it was important to distance Carney from the Watts incident.
"I think we also need to be very careful that Todd and Anthony were together, but there was no suggestion that Todd has has anything to do with the legal proceedings that Anthony is facing."
Carney & Watts not one in the same.

Carney didn't committ a crime but that is not the issue as far as he is concerned. He is a self-admitted alcoholic. He told the court that he will quit the booze and go to AA in an effort to salvage his life. He was so close to a jail term which should have scared the living daylights out of him. What was he doing on the booze at 4am 2 weeks later when he was supposed to be recovering from an injury?
What does it say about our culture as a club when your star player asks for time to go see his mother in Goulburn, does not travel with the team to the game but is out on the piss - the same player who is an admitted alcholic?
I was advocating him being sacked yesterday. Perhaps that's not the way to go, given his state of mind and his problems. As a minimum, the club should stand him down from all duties for the remainder of this year on the proviso that he seeks help and overcome his issues. Any mishap, including a sip of alcohol, during that period, then tear up his contract
For selfish reasons, I'd say that he did nothing wrong and should play this week. However, the kid has deep-rooted problems and needs serious help. He needs to be away from the game. His welfare is more important than a game of footy.

Unheard of? F*&^ing hell.
Get him some help if he wants it and move on.
This is now a non-issue.
Blowing 0.52 on P plates and being seen out drinking is not a hanging offence.
Talk about beat up.

I'm not sure when Gallop was elected head of the Star Chamber but as a lawyer he knows there must be due process and this one is nowhere near enough to hang him over.
This is a beat up.

I suspect unless Carney has signed something that consitutes a booze ban, sacking him would present a problem.
The only hint of allegation I've heard (even from the telucrap) is that Carney consumed alcohol on Saturday. On what basis is that cause to terminate a contract?
