I think Brett Finch's most destructive personality trait was frustration. If things were cruising then he could play well. Like when he went to Melbourne, he was surrounded by (illegal) talent in Cronk, Smith and Slater then he could relax and do his bit.
At the Roosters towards the end he had Anasta, Mini and an ageing Fitzy to deal with.
I will never say I miss him, that would be too sick even for me, but I can forgive his sins.
I will, however, never EVER forgive Ricky Stuart.
Bastard that he is.
I hope that the Blues lose every single game under him.

I wish nothing but calumny on Ricky Stuart, his family, his progenitors, his offspring, his offspring. I want his name to be besmirched for time immemorial and any of his achievements to have Barry Bonds style asterisks next to them in the record books. I want there to always be the question mark surrounding him...I want there to be doubt and uncertainty and the constant niggle of "sure you were lauded but were those plaudits warranted."

Fuk you, we could of had Thurston instead of Funch, and a couple more premierships!

He's on a shitload of cash at the Cowboys. He makes them competitive. If he had come to the Roosters as a reserve grader, he would have played for peanuts and got the overs when he became a marquee player.
He has the innate skills of Freddy. I often torture myself at the thought of him playing with Freddy. I could have scored on the bloody wing with that halves combo.

But Ricky did not rate him! Prefered Funch instead

Finch couldnt handle the burden of pressure or expectation.
He had nothing in the 2003 and 2004 GFs and as main playmaker after Fittler retired.
His best game was SOO 1 in 2006 when he was called into the squad in the final 24 hours before the match. No time for nerves or expectation as he was only called up after Orford and Gower were ruled out.
SOO 2 was vintage Finch though.

Mate I couldn't agree with you more.
They put a smile on all of our faces with the way they played the game and carried themselves on field and they attacked life off field with similar joy.
I am glad they enjoyed their time with us on and off field because I certianly enjoyed my time with them
