  • When will Carney Return?

I reckon that he will make an appearance Round 11 or 12 as that is when the SOO kicks off.

Footy drives this bloke so they will be keen to get him out there as soon as he is able.

Id like to see him miss Origin and get really pissed off at that and regain a hunger for league he has never had before.

i am thinking a couple of months

        it doesn't really matter though.

this season, which promised so much, is already a write off.

JT. Lets revisit my next statement in 3 months time.

          We will make the 8.

a lot will depend on if we are in the hunt for a finals spot

assuming we get done by a full strength St Merge side and then away to the Titans we will be 2-6, the season will be just about be done by then.

if it looks like a finals spot is gone he won't play again this year

Never, if he can't get his alcohol law/rule-breaking lifestyle under control.

He must [if he wants to continue playing footy and earning big money]:

              . Stay out of pubs
              . Stay out of niteclubs
. Stay out of lounge hotels
. Stay out of clubs, RSL/Leagues types, ...except in the snack bar/restaurant areas when accompanied by non-drinkers and with an older male or female mentor.
. Live with said 'older mentor'.
. Stay away from functions where alcohol is present.

              At least for this year.

This time suspension...next time expulsion, from rugby league ...Gallop has his finger on the dump button.

              It's that serious.

He cannot, simply cannot, be allowed to live and wander around society alone...depressed, [he must be depressed about being suspended and all the media hype] he could easily step inside a pub to escape it all, and have a few drinks.

Have any of the 'playing group', his friends from last year and part of this year, invited him over for dinner, all present to only drink soft drink?

                Probably not.

Doesn't have a girlfriend/partner for company/love...gee it must be lonely living by himself with only the remote for company.

No friends much left, certainly not the infamous 'playing group'.
His friend Watts stuffed up worse than he did.

                Ain't life a bitch!

If he ever does come back he should work out a way to score all the tries and kick all the goals himself...and tell the other players to not go embracing him after he scores tries.

Come on Big Mike, get behind TC and start supporting him. I totally understand why you wanted him out but the club have chosen to help/support him one last time. Do you want him to succeed? I also hate grub/semi-criminal footballers and have little patience for them. But if Carney can get himself sorted the return for the Roosters will be huge. It is either that or face having Anasta at 5/8 for this season and probably next year as well.

Management will need to make some hard decisions. If the medical advice and his attitude dont provide a reasonable chance that he can turn his life around again soon , say 2 months, the roosters will need to cut him from the squad. He is still on full pay and taking up say $300K of salary cap. Its obviously damaged team harmony, the team structure of not having a top notch 5/8. Without his ability, last years success would not have occurred. A replacement will be required. I fear he will not survive the glass bowl scrutiny of the NRL .

I hate seeing young people with talent [or without it] ruin their lives and not reach their full potential.

If Todd, and other players, don't make a lot of money and save much of it, what will they do after football?

They'll be 30+, with no trade or business skills much.

We have a program to help young players with this very problem, and send them to TAFE or the like?

The 'team harmonious' wants to remember when some of them stuffed up, bigtime in some cases, and were supported by the other players and the fans...and get a life!

He's injured, groin injury, Freddy had one.

Carney will be back when his groin is repaired.

                              This is all a smokescreen.
