We have offered less than Parra but he has been a rooster all his life.

Hard decision for him to make.

Isn't Ricko on the board these days?

Get him to have a yarn with him and explain the benefits of being a local junior playing out your career with the Roosters.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

He could break his leg next year, or this year, and miss out on a contract with us and a contract and more money at Parra.

Parra obviously has 'money to spend', we don't.

In this year of "Footy is a business", he should really take the money.
          Roosters, Eels, both in Sydney.

          $50,000 extra per year on a contract, over 10 years = $500,000 extra in a player's pocket.

$100,000 extra = One million dollars!

What are the benefits of being a local junior and staying and playing for less money each year, these days?

A truly professional footballer treats it as a profession...to amass as much money during his career as possible, buy properties etc and live an easier life after his playing days are over, without too much 'relocation' pain?

I couldn't possibly wear that horrible blue and gold/yellow Eels team supporters gear.
Nor support a team that wore them.

As Vasco said, Ricko benefitted greatly from being the local pinup boy. It opened up a lot of opportunities outside football - some that are ongoing now that his on-field career is over.

Ask Braith the benefits of not being a local junior.

If we have enough money to extend Captain Media Committment and not retain Symonds than we are stupid beyond reasoning.

                      Chook.

The Sun Herald has an article talking about Parra wanting Symonds but saying that the Roosters were very keen to retain him.

Maybe we could pay him a 'pittance' next year, then big money the year after that...like the Dragons did with Gasnier.

We'd likely be called cheats though.
