I fear that some Roosters fans have been desensitised to the cheating.

We are being rorted. It's a fact.

Well said TS and you too fletch. I am hoping that there isn't a repeat next Sunday and it will tell me plenty about the coming season in regards to the vermin scum and the officials.

To those saying words to the effect of "can't you just enjoy the win" I do enjoy the win and am very proud of the effort shown by the Roosters. That doesn't dismiss the fact that the Roosters received just the sole discretionary penalty over 80 minutes which is an anomalous statistic given the numbers in the previous four games.

so apparently in 80 minutes the Cowboys were so disciplined they gave away 1 penalty when the ball was actually in play.

no matter how good we play this season we simply can't win the comp if this continues.

I don't care if it takes $100k in fines we need to highlight this corruption.
Being overly penalised didn't stop us from winning the comp in 2013.
          It is very frustrating.

The only thing I wil say about this is the officials were hell bent on us not keeping them to nil in the 2nd half

every match we play the same slow play the balls we get penalised for are ignored when our opponents do it.

I hate knowing that every match we play in we are going to get smashed in the penalty count regardless of how the game ebbs and flows.

I'm already dreading listening to the senile old fool Rabs continuously going on about how we deliberately give away penalties and Sterlo saying how poor our discipline is.
Agree about the trip, was a sneaky trip that I missed watching live though so can understand how the refs missed it.

The whole blocking the chasers is a bit of a joke but teams rarely get penalised for it now, to be fair it's usually the touchies who call it and there was no reason for them to call the two blatant blocks as the Cowboys knocked on both of the kicks so we received the ball as it was.

Offsides....neither team was called for an offside when pressuring the opposition deep in their end, we both could have been called for jumping early...neither was so I'm OK with it. (as long as it's consistent)

The ruck.....our ruck was spot on in the first half, it fell away dramatically in the second, blatant flopping, JWH was back to using the play-the-ball man as leverage to get off the ground (this stuff is just LAZY)....the Cowboys weren't doing it, their ruck may have slowed as well but they weren't doing the dumb, blatant things we resorted to.

Cheating is Ben Cummins at the SFS last year when we played Manly, that was cheating.......this was our discipline sliding way away in the second half due to fatigue, 6 completed sets in the second half isn't anywhere near acceptable and it tapped us out, we got sloppy, we got penalised.

I am OK with the referees overall performance last night, when we were clean in the ruck in the 1st half we were not penalised......hopefully it continues.

Agree. Tupou getting run off the ball is a joke.. But no one gets penalised for it anymore. The rule interpretation needs to be changed but it won't.

There is some truth in what you say ELO, but there was also an element of keeping the tropical bogan supporters engaged and of avoiding a blowout score. See Player 1's satirical piece here on the Cowboys' almost faultless "discipline". You don't really believe that the Cowboys deserved a 10-1 penalty advantage (ignoring the mandatory penalty for the kick off) do you?

JWH starts the season with 2 penalties conceded.

There was nothing in either of them.

Nobody can deny he isn't scrutinised more than any other player.

Were violated by the refs again last night against a"near perfect" cowgirls team lol. Next week against the vermin will be worse!! Proud of the boys. Thought we would win, but not by that margin. Go Easts😃

I think... That we deserved to be awarded the early penalties like the blocks on Toups for the bomb, a SKD tackle in mid air though slight it still manage to knock the ball out of his hands and straight after came the trip on RTS. Those last penalties against us were deserved. They were penalties trying to slow down the play cause the were tired and I can't blame them. The heat in BNE is crazy let alone in Townsville.

The heat increased substantially in the second half as the wind disappeared. It coincided with is having to do all that defence. An amazing effort to build the season upon.

In today's modern game with all the new technical rules, a 10-2 penalty count in definetly next to impossible to fathom.

In 2013 then refs tried to penalise us out of games, but through our defence, our determination and simple desire to win we were able to overcome this. In 2014 and it would appear 2015 that the refs/NRL have worked out that if they award us minimal penalties each game, while crucifying our players that we will be unable to win games. This might sound like I am a tin foil hat wearer, but even talking to some of my Cowboys mates up here lat night and they all agreed that the refs are rorting us. At some stage someone at the Roosters has to take this further, as it stinks worse than Pakistani match fixing and has been going on for years. But in saying that you now have Greenburg and Richardson in the upper echelon of the NRL ensuring that the Bulldogs and Rabbits operate on a different playing field to everyone else.

Compile the stats. Surely someone has access to it. Make some graphs about which refs are the worst. Send it to a journo and have it brought to light?
