So + 15 compared to - 229... that puts us SLIGTHTLY behind the league average

Given these gaudy figures i'e given up on even dreaming of a win in the penalty count.
We did manage to win the penalty count 5 - 2 in the 2013 GF (although it really was 5 - 3 if you take into account the penalty try). The amount of wailing and gnashing of teeth that followed the GF because we did win that count was monumental.

Winning regardless of the count is good but I'm concerned about the long term effect over the season with these "extra sets of six" against us meaning we've made a thousand more tackles than any other team come september. Even though some say we were gassed at the end of last year this would have played a part.

Besides being able to overcome it in 2013 (no way were we getting past the prelim in 2014 that game was bizarro) I'm sick of watching them defend all the time no matter where they are on the field.

It's boring! The cowboys were boring! Wanna sell tickets? Then let the team who can put in a show off the leash. We're just having our era of being a heavyweight team and they can't handle it. Too bad EASTS have done a lot for rugby league and souths over the years it's getting too obvious and tiring. And from round one that'll do me.

We were up 12-0 in that prelim after 12 minutes. We put an excellent kick chase deep into vermin territory. On the first tackle one of their players, resenting being towelled up, got up and punched the roosters tackler. Cummins was right next to it and awarded a penalty to the puncher, putting vermin deep into our territory. they scored from that. It would have been hard for any team to match Souffs in that second half against a 6-0 penalty count. We were gassed. We couldn't do it 2 years in a row - the NRL had their fairy tale story after failing the previous year.

We may aswell forget about this Sunday as there is no way that the Roosters will be allowed to get anywhere near Souffs. We'll lose the penalty count; get a few dodgy forward pass calls go against us while Souths will get away with them; we'll cop some rough no try obstruction whilst all of Souths tries will be awarded on field; Souths will be allowed to lie all over the ruck whilst we'll be penalised for holding down a split second long; and no one will be allowed to tough inglis, whilst we'll be penalised for blocking RTS.

Any other events would lead to a conspiracy against the untouchable rabbitohs and a square up later in the year

I think it was Sam Burgess on Jake and from there as one poster put it "the fix was on" testament to that brutal game we only lost by 10.

I'll have to go back and take a look at that as I'd forgotten that specific incident. As I've said elsewhere, the handling of this game will tell me plenty about what the respective teams playing can expect this year - I'm hoping the cowgirls game was an aberration.

And of course they got a few piggy backs out of their territory straight after. Nothing new in that. They were getting it all season.
