So amped for this game. Desperately trying to get out of work to attend. Nothing like seeing those bums from Redfern leave the ground with 5 minutes left on the clock. Hopefully earlier. I'm very confident. Our forwards will dominate them.

We completed something like 30% of our sets in the second half.

Sure, our defence was incredible, but Souffs will pose much more threat than the Cowboys.

As Coggy said, if we play well we will win.

Be a totally different game to the Cows , where we were up from the start ( with the speed of the rucks we deserved to be ) and then forgot the game plan and tried to attack every PTB with out setting it up with power rucking.

Who will handle the heat best? Sure souffs played in Brisbane when it was hot too but they weren't under pressure like we were. The Cows are the best team in QLD. People can say that they made many mistakes and let us off the hook but it can also be said that we put pressure on them to make all those mistakes. 6 of 1 half... The amount of tackles we made put us on notice that the season has started in a brutal manner and thank goodness we have no injuries. Souths had it easy and will somehow be complacent about this next game no matter what Maguire tells them. They'll find out that the competition started once JWH, moa and Liu start hitting them with force and the back rowers run fast at them. Souths have only Ingliss, Keary and Reynolds, the rest are all bit players.

Hope we have learnt lessons from last year's prelim. Penalty talk aside, they ambushed us in defence. Our forwards got smashed off the park and they attacked with their defence, essentially.

Ball handling is still an issue from last season as seen in last Saturdays match. We need to focus on the basics this match; complete sets and run hard. Cliche, but the rest will take care of itself. We have a much more skilful team and backline so the points will come if we're patient

We'll win, in the Prelim it was Teo and Burgess who really gave us the most trouble, they're both gone now so the job will be much easier.

Our foward pack is better then theirs, not by much though. Our halves are better, though Keary and Reynolds are in form and our backline is a lot better. Most importantly though our coach is better, so good he is now Batman's sidekick, Batman and Robbo.

Agree with most of what you said but let's get real lol. I think you have left out a few other souths danger men like Luke, Walker, Johnston, George and Tom Burgess and Stewart and Sutton. All these players pose a danger whether you choose to believe or not. This game is only two points at the end of the day and of course bragging rights between both neighbours, i hope for a win without any injuries or suspensions.

Hahaha... I think I was tired when I wrote this. Hitting the books too hard yes you're right about some of the players I left out. I do consider one of the Burgess a main problem I think it's George. Stewart and Luke too. I think the Sunday arvo heat will be the main factor.

I imagine all the dropped ball in the second half had a lot to do with humidity and fatigue.

I think we'll give them a test. They're the bench mark, for sure, but on Saturday's form we're no slouches

Maintaining our defence from last week with a improved completion rate we are in with a good chance. The vermin have not been pressured in a game for some time. The guarantee is they will get their standard piggy back penalties to suit the NRL / Sportsbet partnership. I would dearly love to see us gain some metres from our danger zone via our forwards rather than wingers and centres. We are easy pickings in bringing the ball out last season and it was the same against the cows.

The heat is a Major factor and you can be as fit as anyone else but if the opposition is fit too, then it cancels each other out. Thats why the cowboys are hard to beat up there and we had them in control in the first half. Maybe that was the instructions to get off the blocks before they did cause if it was even late into the game, you would have thought that the cows had the advantage. they got rattled early and couldn't adjust to it.

Any win in Townsville is great let alone a first round win by 24 and keeping them to one try. Can't wait till Sunday. Missed the Cowboys game due to Internet issues but that's now sorted. However, what I would give to be there live.
