  • Convicted drug cheat coach on the Roosters...

Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan on NRL 2015: "It's a little bit faster, sides are trying to find their feet. Sides don't want to give away too many penalties – bar the Roosters. They were quite happy to give penalties away and then defend 'em."

Common misconception that does't help. Is this clown trying to say we are doing that for a decade - through a multitude of coaches and captains?

Such a successful tactic, amazing that no other coach in the league seems to have adopted it given they all are happy to claim how much advantage inviting teams into our own 20 obviously gives us

I'd say the point of the subject line was to highlight that Flannigan is a convicted drug cheat coach, much like several players for souffs are convicted woman bashers, Fergo is a convicted groper, etc.

Its a cheap shot and is unnecessary imo

IMO - Flanagan should never have been allowed to coach a football team again.

It's a tactical move to surely negate our chances this year in stating that. Anyway he would be more worried about his own team's chances this year after losing st home to the Raiders.

The sharks coach can take a long walk off a short pier with no thanks for his glib, ignorant and snide remark.

You're right. It was a cheap shot.

I fear that this absurd suggestion is getting traction in NRL circles and gives the referees free rein to continue their weekly flogging of our team. Maybe I felt that Mr Flanagan should be a little more reserved in his remarks considering his recent shameful past.

No more unnecessary than his cheap shot at us. It was not only cheap but false and calculated. He's going out of his way to try and give legs to this "deliberate penalty" bullshit theory, knowing that if conniving wankers like him keep saying it's true then it will stick and we'll cop even worse shafting.

Not that his antics surprise me. It's part of his cheating nature after all.

did Flanagan also say how the Roosters say to the Refs before kick off, "don't give us too many penalties - We like tackling more than attacking"?

Just watching fox replay of the sharks canberra game (suck shit by the way Flanagan). It is worthy of note that the other great sharks cheat, Gallen, mouths off at and intimidates match officials without any peer. He's been doing it for years and I will heartily applaud when a referee one day sin bins him as he deserves for one of his aggressive, dissenting sprays.

It's more likely however we will first be sin binned for "deliberately conceding penalties in an unfair effort to spend the entire match tackling rather than have any ball possession".

I agree. Flanno should never have been allowed to coach again. He was head coach. He was responsible for what happened at his club whilst he was in charge.

I also disagree and believe we do give away penalties on our line. I'm not saying we are coached to do it and I believe it's a successful tactic.

Judging by his teams performance it appears that Flanno and his team are all still on drugs.....TRANQUILLISERS!
He should worry about his own team. He should worry A LOT.
He is bitter that The Roosters told him to F-off.
