But when do the players take ownership? Mini has been around for 12 years. He should know on a wet night you don't run down a blind side and throw cut out balls to wingers. He should know on the last tackle not to stand in front of the halfback.

I don't feel its an ego thing. Mini has never struck me to be egotistical. I think that as senior players and leaders, they feel obliged to step up and get something happening when all is not working. Wouldn't that be a fair assumption?

I reckon Minichiello has been one of our better players this year. He isn't the greatest ball player I have ever seen, but he does set up the odd try (like the one against brisbane last year that won the game). And he is deffinetely NOT 69kg, the blokes a ball of muscle.

Yes but it's the coaches role to make him stop.

Not just that, I'm pretty sure smith wants mini to play more as a five eight rather than anasta. It looks like smith doesn't want anasta playing like a normal five eight even when carney is not five eight. I've never rated anasta as a five eight but mini is 100 times worse in that role.

I think some of you need to go and play 11 seasons of First Grade and win the Golden Boot before you say that he's past it. All players have bad runs. I'd be more confident in Mini than any other player to get through it quickly.

I think if he moved to the Wing it would prolong his career. The FB position has evolved and unfortunately for Anthony he isn't a ball player. He wouldn't be able to land the pass Hoppa Jnr threw on friday night. I think it would be wise to consider the change this Pre-Season if he is to play out this season at FB.
