  • A few stats

    Just a few numbers....

Paul Gallen - 21 runs for 182 meters, 9 tackle breaks, 31 tackles, 2 offloads, 1 line break and 1 try.

    Aidan Tolman - 72 minutes....24 runs for 194 meters, 3 tackle breaks, 36 tackles, 3 offloads, 1 line break and 1 try.

But we'd rather have JWH, FPN, Ryles, Anasta. Makes sense.

When did we have an opportunity to sign Gallen and Tolman?

I can't see how you can consider that an opportunity to sign Gallen. He was under contract and wasn't even negotiating with other clubs. Tolman, yeah, I suppose you could say we had a chance to chase him. Whether or not we could afford both players is another question.

Gallen would cost a lot more then these guys. Jwh was ax fringe 1st grader at manly, think we only signed him for around 100k

Some seem to think that we can just put money upfront and players will come begging to play for the Roosters. If it was it just that, Gallen would have left that sorry club and gone to play for anyone else but he just sticks where he is comfortable. While the cap is in place, our $$$ are as strong as anyone elses so unless a player thinks we can guarantee them success, there is no way we can attract every player we want.

              Gallen?

Urinating in public, near a man's head?

              Racist slur on the field?

We need players with no 'baggage'.

                Gallen

It is easier to stand out when the rest of the team (until recently) has mostly been crap

And he will retire without a premiership!

Has carried the gummies for years. A grub, but one tough bastard.

                Tolman

This kid is like a 'white' Petro. Consistant, no frills & gets the job done.

He would have looked good in an easts jumper (replacing Ryles)

Tolman/Douglas/Snowden/Manna.... hold the key to nsw origin's hopes for years to come.

Gallen is a hothead and not very bright, only reason anyone talks about is because Stuart insists on having him on the origin side.

We tried to get Tolman but he got big dollars from the dogs. We would of had to let Kennedy go who was off contract at the end of last year, the club made the right decision.

Tolman's stats this year. Imagine if we had him....

                        R7:
                        24 runs for 194 metres and 36 tackles - 0 errors and 0 penalties

                        R6:
                        19 runs for 145 metres and 32 tackles - 0 errors and 1 penalty

                        R5:
                        15 runs for 116 metres and 38 tackles - 0 errors and 0 penalties

                        R4:
                        20 runs for 174 metres and 30 tackles - 0 errors and 1 penalty

                        R3:
                        17 runs for 133 metres and 36 tackles - 0 errors and 0 penalties

                        R2:
                        26 runs for 176 metres and 28 tackles - 0 errors and 1 penalty

                        R1:
                        20 runs for 171 metres and 40 tackles - 0 errors and 0 penalties

It just does not get any better than that.

Ask Trew if Gallen wanted to come to the Roosters.

                              Since we are crunching stats,

Work out what is the average number of hit-ups between each tackle break for Tolman. Someone with that many carries should surely have already amounted plenty this season.

He works tirelessly but is largely a punching bag, a small, slow and non-agile one at that.
