Yes possession and ATTEMPTED use seems to make it clear that there's no positive test results? Substance still not named. Up in QLD they seem to be able to get caught with sizeable amounts of cocaine (in large groups) and continue to play. Unless he was caught with a shipping container full of steroids, I'm guessing there'll be nothing in it.

Why was this waste of space ever brought back to the club?
It is hard to comment about something when hindsight is involved but in no way do I think our recruitment people are doing a bad job.
MLK has had a very strange career. Originally he came through the ranks and was upset at our coaching staff about not being given an opportunity early on. He captained the aus schoolboys squad, which had guys like friend and foran. He had a decent start to his career and a solid season in 2010 i think it was. but after being injured he hasn't been the same since both mentally and physically. It is weird how a career can change so rapidly.Originally you would have had him down to being a leader of the club.
I hope like every roosters fan would, that this is all a misunderstanding and that he gets cleared of these allegations. If not, then I would be pretty upset with what he chose to do to himself and to the club by dragging our name though the mud through his choices.Comment of the year:

Random thoughts there Isadora.

He wasn't accused of taking steroids. It was confirmed that the drugs in question are peptides although which peptides is unclear. For all those saying that his physique transformed magically overnight, peptides do not do that to a physique. Steroids do. But no player in the nrl would be stupid enough to take steroids as they would be caught out immediately. It seems a player can only get away with steroid use in the jrs where testing isn't as strict. As for peptides, well they've been used for quite a few years now and it's only just coming to light as these previously weren't detectable on standard testing procedures.

I just hope what they are reporting this morning about Kennedy being issued a show cause notice in late 2013 is not true, apparently he had been secretly fighting the legalities of the show cause notice and it was only last week his appeal was denied, hence the infraction notice this week.
if that was the case he has been lying to both the Broncos and the Roosters about his situation, if this turns out to be correct its hard to see him ever pulling on a jumper in the NRL again.

Coach says Roosters not angry with Martin Kennedy over doping allegations
March 20, 2015 - 3:30PM Chris Barrett
Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson says he and the club do not hold it against Martin Kennedy for not telling them about drug allegations hanging over his head when they re-acquired him from Brisbane after last season.
Kennedy was on Friday provisionally suspended by the NRL over claims of possession and attempted use of multiple banned substances and faces a minimum two-year ban if found guilty before the game's anti-doping panel.
The front-rower had quietly fought the allegations brought by the Australian Sports and Anti-Doping Authority in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal for the past year before having his appeal rejected last week, but the Roosters were unaware he was facing ASADA charges until this week.
Kennedy spent last season at the Broncos before rejoining the Roosters but did not tell them of the ASADA cloud over him.
Robinson, however, maintained on Friday he was "not disappointed" in the 26-year-old for that.
"That was a personal decision from his point of view. There are obviously reasons for that and they're obviously very private," Robinson said.
Asked whether the Roosters would have gone ahead with signing Kennedy had they known, the 2013 premiership coach said: "We're not sure, obviously, with those situations. The contract was still registered in October or November when we decided on that so there was no issue at that time.
"Obviously the procedures that were in place - there was no reason for him not to continue playing. I'm not worried about our procedures from last October."
Robinson said his focus, aside from Monday night's game against Penrith, was on Kennedy's welfare.
"I've spoken to him both Wednesday morning and then Thursday and Friday morning just to make sure that he's OK, that he understands the club's point of view and that we're there to help if he needs anything personally over the next couple of days," he said.
"There is obviously some close friends within the group - he's been here for a long time at different stages - and they've reached out and made known that they're still friends and want to make sure that he's OK.
"We know our role. There are things that come and go at an external basis but we've got a game to play on Monday night against Penrith and we're focused on that. We have to look after the player. You can't assume guilt until the tribunal has been held."
Robinson and Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan both said they had not asked Kennedy whether or not he denied the allegations.
"I haven't gone into any details with him," Robinson said. "My point of view with Marty has been welfare and making sure he's OK as a person. Those allegations came to light Wednesday morning for us as a club and that's been out of our hands from a legal perspective."
Kennedy can not take part in training as well as games while he is provisionally suspended but his salary will continue to be honoured until he fronts the NRL panel.
"He is suspended from club activities, beyond that we will provide individual assistance to Martin," Canavan said. "It's a suspension at this stage so he continues to be paid until further notice from the NRL.":
I find the bolded bit interesting. Does that read the NRL registered a contract with a player who they knew was in ArSeADAs headlights???

The NRL have now suspended him over Allegations.

Feel sorry for the kid but this is what happens when there is no clarification and bad decision making. He should have at the time either stood on his feet and fought the charges or come clean where he may have gotten a rapidly reduced sentence like the cronulla players did last year. This may yet drag on and end badly for MLK. I hope he has the support from his friends and the club.Comment of the year:

Sounds about the joke way the NRL is run these days.
They conned the Sharks into suspension without proof
They convinced Earl to be a scape goat then had to clear him
They run trial by media now rather than factThe Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

I would question allowing a player to be registered with such a charge hanging over their head.
Or maybe the NRL were never informed. The story is ambiguous, it hints at certain things but I am unsure what was the NRLs level of prior knowledge.
I support the governing body but am unsure of the full details in this case.
Interesting times ahead for MLK I read today he is looking at taking legal action.
ArSeADA are a weird mob.
