  • Anyone want to talk about the crowd?

Gorgeous day, first Sunday home game for 18 months, and the team are playing some brilliant stuff. But we can only get 9000 odd to the game.

Is it time we got a proper marketing department, or do we just admit we can't get people to games?

As a Pom you probably wouldn't be up to speed with this thing called the Cricket World Cup but apparently the final was being played yesterday.

It looked pretty miserable on tv but it often does. Honestly though - $7 for a weak beer in a plastic cup with the option of equally overpriced processed food, not to mention the parking and the overpriced tickets. **** yeah, I will stay at home for the rest of my life mate. I have gourmet food, quality cannabis, whatever alcohol I want in a glass, a big screen, air conditioning, no entry fee and I watch every game live. I'm not even in Australia but I think you get my point.

I was at the game yesterday. Yes it was a gorgeous day. I was dropped off and walked home from the game.

But I was surprised that the cheapest GA ticket is $30. 4 flat beers in plastic cups cost $30.

Food is truly not fit for consumption and at beyond outrageous over priced rate.

Just out of interest, what are the GA tickets at say Shark Park or Brookvale and other grounds?

I was there. But lets face it, it was a boring game, as so many of them are these days. I'm off league. Very hard to get excited about a discretionary penalty fest, even when your team's playing. We've entering a dark period in the game.

Yeah I tend to agree with this My main interest in the game in the last half hour was whether or not we would win the penalty count

I'd be surprised if we top 20k for any of our games,
Our big stadium does the look of a small crowd no favours either. Really not sure why they persist in charging $30 for gen admission.

Do you think a game of cricket being played in another city made much difference to our attendance?

Lets be generous and say that maybe 1000 stayed away to watch the cricket. 10,000 is still a shit crowd.

You think only 1000 stayed away to watch the world cup final between Australia and New Zealand? Are you honestly that ****ing delusional?

I reckon the crowd was down about 5000. I was absolutely shocked with how many people actually turned up given the once in a generation event all at the game were missing out on to be there.

I'm going to the Cowboys-Storm game tonight. Why? Because it's costing me about $9 for a ticket to sit in the Northern Grandstand.

It's ridiculous if the cheapest tickets to a Roosters home game were $30.

Agreed. Plus we were playing a bottom 3-4 team who's supporters would hardly make an effort to drive 6-7 hours to watch them potentially get slaughtered instead of watching it from home plus watching the cricket.

It wasn't an either/or situation mate. You could go to the game, duck in the pub afterwards, and you'd only missed 10 or so overs. Hardly worth staying away from the footy for.

Simmer the f@ck down as well.

Don't take this personally mate but you don't seem very bright. Not everyone lives around the corner from the SFS. Not everyone can or wants to duck into a pub to watch the cricket. You were given an explanation, you are unable to comprehend. Can't help you beyond that.

Don't you concern yourself about how bright I am sunshine, there's a fair chance I'll be out of your league.

Just back on topic, are we expecting the missing 5000 to rock up next sunday?
