Paul Kent is disappointing.
I thought he was a cut above the average telecrap writer, but alas he has got this badly wrong, and there are so many willing to lap this up.

Makes me think of the clown himself, Mike Gibson.

Ikin/Kent both backtracking tonight, trying to say last night wasn't about the Roosters but more about 3rd party agreements, I bet someone warned them they were walking a fine line in regards defamation last night, they basically called us cap cheats last night and clearly spelt it out tonight that was not the case.

It was weak.

Basically Robbo called Kent last night and abused him. He pointed out the same thing as the email - that the new contracts won't kick in until next year. Kent said "that's right" and then Ikin quickly changed the subject to third party agreements.

Of course they threw out the "we aren't suggesting the roosters are cheats" garbage.

Nothing retracted of course. That's not the News way.

they made mention that the Roosters club was far from impressed about their comments last night, and then made some half arsed attempt to say they didn't mean to imply the Roosters were cheating a cap but were using them as an example of how 3rd party payments are creating an unfair advantage for some clubs.

like I said above it wouldn't shock if there was a not so friendly reminder about how close they were sailing to a defamation case.

I actually spoke before to the author of the email and predicted exactly what eventually happened. That they wouldn't mention the email and would instead say they got lots of emails (which is bullshiit). Kent said he got "a thousand emails". Makes sense of course because after all Roosters fans are whingers.

I suppose I haven't posted much in the last few years, largely because of a few horrid trolls which were ruining he forum. They appear gone for now. It's cute that you think that my posting's main purpose revolves around you though.
