Would we sign Alex Johnston?

If we were to lose RTS, would we consider signing Alex Johnston who is off-contract at the end of the season.

The boy can play!

He's a very smart and dynamic footy player and would come reasonably cheap(approx 300 to 400k imo) leaving plenty of money to lock in BBQ for another 2 seasons.

The only issue is that he'd have to be quarantined.

I have heard he is going to be offered in the vicinity of $600k by the Titans who have money to spend and are looking for a Fullback. I am sure a few other clubs will join in a bidding war so we wouldn't be in the ballpark considering some of the options we have in the outside backs anyway.

The money he would command I think would be better off spent towards keeping Roger.

He's not worth 600k imo.However, i get that the NRL run Titans will go all out to be competitive.

Johnston is a Merritt clone, which isn't a bad thing per se but we don't need him.

I also don't see why the Titans want him? Him and Roberts are very similar players.

I could see manly making a big throw at him, they have got two burgi now, sam may be the third, the could offer Johnston the fullback role, and play brett stewart at 5/8 after foran and dce leave.
