  • Forwards Effort Today

I thought our forwards were great today. Outplayed the Dragons forwards.

They hit hard and pressured the Dragons all day. Myles best game of the year. JWH was great. Arona continues to show promise. Conn was very industrious as usual. Masoe and Kennedy hit the ball up hard. The pack looked a lot better without Ryles.

Just a pity our backs lacked the creativity and spark to put points on once our forwards forced the errors. Also very disappointed with the 5th tackle options from the halves.

Not often the forwards outplay the opposition and you go down, but it happened today.

I dunno about outplayed them, I think we matched them for most of the game but have a lot of improvement in us. We lacked intensity, particularly after a mistake. You see the Dragons they fire up after a mistake. We need to learn to do the same.

I liked what I saw from Kennedy after he failed to stop Creagh, he slammed the ground in frustration, at least it means he cares.

    Chook.

I thought our forwards were strong also.

We just don't have the creativity in the halves to capitalise on the opportunities we are given.

With Anasta at 6 we have the slowest halves in the comp. When distributing the ball they look like their handling a 10kg sodden leather stedden

Kennedy was good - wanted fwds to hurry up & pack a scrum when we were 8 down.

On Anasta. He is not pulling his weight atm but I did notice that the ball didn't go left a few times near the Dragons line in the first half. He got filthy - and he did have a point. It is in that situation where he is actually dangerous.

The effort from most of the forward pack was good. One man I am NOT happy with is FPN as I stated in another thread. JWH, Kennedy, Friend, Conn, Masoe and especially Myles tried hard but this Roosters side won't make the 8 I'm afraid as there are just too many weaknesses elsewhere.

While anasta may be slow as a 5/8, you can't tar Pearce with the same brush after out pacing Soward to score under the posts.

to be fair, Pearce had a pretty decent head start didnt he? lol

i did chuckle out loud though seeing Soward give chase, as if he bothered when he cant tackle one on one anyway? ahahah

Kennedy missed Boyd once and Mini cut him down but did not finish the tackle off yet there was Marty to clean up Minis work and finish the tackle
