  • Is Tupou going to live up to expectation?

I don't see any improvement in the past 12 months. He is constantly pushed backwards when he gets tackled. Except for the high ball does he really offer a huge amount? How hard do we try to re-sign him ?
I was really excited by this kid but have gradually worried that he may have hit the limit. That's just how I see it

Agree TBF. For such a big guy he is surprisingly easy to both tackle and then push back. I've said this before and I stand by it here, he is patently useless at hitting the ball up out of the Roosters' half. One would think the coaching staff would have remedied such a glaring problem by now.

If Toops is offered a lot more by another club, I'd let him go.

I can't see us keeping him. His spot will go to Nene

Or Burgess. Can't see them signing the Pom and not giving him first crack.

lazy looks like he cant be bothered out there always getting getting rag dolled when he takes the ball up even though he is 6 foot 4 tall and prob 100kgs

if he is after 350k plus were better off punting him to me is is not worth that sort of money i dont care if he can leap and score tires they way they bloke these days and our poor kicking he is no chance of scoring tries.

if it was me i would let him and maloney go sign carney back then our backline would be set, carney would not command the 500k he was getting at the sharks how many clubs would want him after this latest debacle apart from manly

That's fine with me. They're similar heights and offer similar qualities (good and bad). Nene has an offload in him too which wasn't evident yesterday. They both seem to drift out of games at times as well but this is something I thought the coaching staff would fix.

Tupou fixed his runs deep in our half last year but they've crept back in too his game. He was the inform winger of the game until he got injured last year. I'm certain he will recapture his form when he gets his confidence back.

I'd also say it's pretty hard when the best feature of your game is constantly being thwarted by illegal, yet unpenalised play. He as also saved a try by running down Holmes.
