Willis Meehan could be stood down after an alleged assault
THE Roosters are poised to suspend their boom Australian Schoolboys star Willis Meehan following charges over an alleged assault at The Star Casino on Saturday night.
Meehan was at the casino on Saturday night when an incident occurred which has been captured on CCTV footage. Casino sources claim that in the footage it appears that Meehan headbutted a patron.
The Roosters have notified the NRL Integrity Unit of the alleged incident and are expected to stand the player down until after the court case.
Earlier this year, Roosters coach Trent Robinson named Meehan as a player he believed would burst into first grade at the club this year. Meehan is also regarded as one of Australias best amateur heavyweight boxers. He is the son of professional boxer Kali Meehan.
