The Warriors are set to swoop on Roger Tuivasa-Sheck with the Roosters fullback on the verge of signing a deal upwards of $800,000 per season deal to join the New Zealand club from next year.
The contract offer is almost double that of the Roosters, who have offered about $400,000 a year to keep the Kiwi international at the club. The move is almost certain to signal the end of Sam Tomkins' two-year stint at the Warriors with the Englishman set to return to the Super League next year because of his homesick partner.
It comes as a cruel blow to the Roosters who have groomed Tuivasa-Sheck to be the club's long-term fullback following the retirement of Anthony Minichiello at the end of last year. The injured Blake Ferguson shapes as a potential No.1 for the Roosters beyond this year.
The Warriors have struggled to attract big-name players to the club after missing out on luring the likes of Kieran Foran, Trent Merrin and Jason Taumalolo to the club for next season.
Tuivasa-Sheck has been in scintillating form for the Roosters this year. He become just the 13thplayer in the NRL to run for more than 300 metres in a game during the Roosters' last-start loss to the Sharks.
The fleet-footed 21-year-old finished with 300 metres from his 28 runs which included two line breaks, six tackle breaks and a long-range try.
His younger brother Johnny - who is also an outside back - is part of the Roosters' under-20s team and played in the club's premiership-winning under-18 SG Ball side last year.
The Roosters will now turn their attention to signing Ferguson on a long-term contract while they also have representative outside backs Daniel Tupou and Shaun Kenny-Dowall off-contract at the end of this season. The Roosters have secured forwards Dylan Napa and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves to long-term contracts. Five-eighth James Maloney is also off-contract at season's end. Tuivasa-Sheck has played seven Tests for the Kiwis since making his NRL debut in 2012.
Tuivasa-Sheck said he had taken time to adjust to the full-time fullback position.
"Usually when I was on the wing I'd be running between six to seven kilometres a game," Tuivasa-Sheck told Fairfax Media in March.
"I had to lose a bit more weight to run around. Last year I was playing at 95kg to 97kg. This year I'm back down to 92kg or 93kg to try and cover the field more.
He has scored 18 tries from 62 games and was part of the club's 2013 grand final win against South Sydney in his first full season in the top grade.
Comment of the year:
Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,
"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

The salary cap is about to absolutely gut our squad.
Devastating, just devastating.
Roger hasn't left yet, and the warriors seem to keep missing the players they target, alot of clubs get decimated at times, might be our turn, but i cant see our big wigs letting all this talent go without a backup plan.

It's just a shame we couldn't sustain our Premiership window for more than 3 years.
Manly and Melbourne had theirs open for 10 years and the greedy person in me was hoping for the same.
Next year will be a very important rebuilding phase. We need Latrell Mitchell and Jackson Hastings to come along swiftly if we're to have any chance for another season or two in 2017/18 before the cap destroys us again.
It's a savage cycle suited to the shit clubs who can't help themselves by building a quality team.

And with or without him we still have a quality team, with a good bunch of juniors climbing the ranks.
We'll be okay.

If this is true it will be absolutely shattering. To have developed and groomed him to take over from Mini, only to lose him after 1 year is just devastating. I can't actually comprehend the thought of him leaving.
He should've been our #1 for at least the next 10 years, and finished his career here as a club legend and one of our best ever players to pull on the jersey. He should've been the player we built our club around for those next 10 years, the player we should've done everything humanly possible to keep. As Tommy Smith said, he will be the best player in the world in a couple of years, and the best Kiwi to have ever played the game, and we lost him at 21.
It will be the worst thing that has happened to our club in the time I've supported it. Worse than Freddy's retirement, worse than that slimy **** Bennett setting us back years, worse than anything associated with 2009.
Whoever ****ed this up by leaving it till now to try and re-sign him needs to be shot. Whether it was Uncle Nick, Robbo, POS, Canavan, the guy in the mascot suit or the ****ing ballboys, they should be ashamed of themselves.
I'm just hoping and praying with everything I have that this is wrong.
End of rant.😡Last edited by The Pelican; 04-08-2015, 02:57 AM.

Wasting his time if he goes to the warriors. They will never win any thing unless they land a top coach. You can sign all the stars you want but if you havnt got the right management it means nothing.
Now Manly keptall their stars intact for 10 years so we do the same fark the cap.
and if you wanted to play Cap Doctor then let go high stakers as in Toups SKD and even Maloney. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

I blame the club for other things they don't do, like better promotion, but blaming the club for not signing RTS is not one. Maybe it's his manager who is holding out, and since his value has Increased over the last few weeks, I'm sure their in a better position. I have a feeling that RTS has things to finish here and will sign on for one more contract with us, then he might leave.
