I have always believed that we are the only club now able to entice Folau back to the NRL, the fact we have lost our most marketable player means we need to get a new "face of the franchise" to help the corporate side of the business, with the help of Smiths discretionary fund we should have a serious crack at bringing Folau back to the NRL.

If we can't get Folau, Alex Johnston is another possibility, with the cash freed up by losing RTS we would have the cash to make a run at Johnston, the kid is a potential star and would slot nicely in at fullback.

As talented as Latrell Mitchell is I don't think he is going to be ready to play fullback next season, he is likely to be blooded on the wing first.

I think we will stick with Latrell with possibly Fergo to fill the gap.

No to Johnston, he will be a great winger, I just can't see him being a superstar FB. Though stealing him from Souffs would be fun.

Folau or Hayne would be awesome, but Mitchell may be all that's needed.

obviously Folau is a pipe dream but there would be a lot of corporate support to get him back in the NRL, it might means he counts $600k on the cap with the rest made up of 3rd party deals and NRL top up money.

I can pretty much guarantee Folau will remain in Union. I know this through a source at the ARU, whom I know personally. I can confirm Folau will remain with the Waratahs and ARU and go to Japan for a 3 month sabbatical to play in Japan to fill up his coffers. This is a done deal.

He wont be at the Roosters and he wont be in the NRL.

the outcry would be no where near as bad if we lost RTS/Maloney/Toups and brought in Folau.

I have always thought we would lose two out of RTS/Maloney/Toups and SKD and if it was the clubs intention to keep RTS and Maloney they would likely have set aside around $800-900k to keep them.

that now means we have around $800-900k in cap space for 2016 to spend, will be interesting to see what we do with it.

From all we have seen from RTS i still think that Folau >>>>>>> RTS.

Folau is a genetic freak much like sbw, and like SBW he is a game breaker. That being said I see us probably sticking with fergo at FB and developing Mitchell

We didn't get rid of RTS.

Now that he's gone though we're going to need a replacement, and if we can use the slush fund to secure Folau then why not?

I called this back in April. it was a done deal way back in March that Folau had re-signed with the ARU. I know this because I have a source at the ARU whom I am mates with and he was heavily involved in keeping Folau there.

Looks like it is going to be Hayne or Fergo at FB for us next year. My money is Fergo, even though I would love for us to get Hayne
