  • Wow, it's embarrassing!

What's going on with many of you? All this sobbing for a player who hasn't reach legend status. He's not Freddy, Mini or even Morley status and all this sobbing for nothing.? Yes potentially he can be great but so was Pearce, Anasta and any other potentially great player that came past and hasn't. The vermin forum must be having a field day reading all of this. Wake up everyone!, season is not over and you're already playing 2016.

I look at it as what goes around, comes around. Fair play.

He isn't a legend but if you were playing park footy and had to choose from the Roosters squad would he be one of your first three picks?
Big shoes to fill and understandably people are pretty p!ssed off.

          Mini? Lol.

Should have retired. And had he retired we would not be in this position.

Roger should have been fullback last year. In five games he has already set the club record for metres in a game.

Are you saying the club waited to see how he went this year before offering him a contract last year?? Thats like wanting to bet on the Melbourne cup winner after the race is won.

IMO the decision was made for trhe good of the club, could you imagine the Telucrap if Roger Knocked back that kind of money to stay with us.The auditor would have been camped on our door step for the next 3 seasons.FFS the club is more important than one player.Roger is going to be a great, but they will only keep him for 3 years then the ALL Blacks will come calling.Very astute business I say.Take a hit now while were in transition from Mini.

                Easy to say now.

I'm not saying I agreed with the tactic but there were some that were concerned about his ability at fullback - and I recall there were many on here too.

Had that not been the case he would have been signed up well before Tomkins decided he wanted out.

Yes we know your feelings re Mini. Still the ONLY player to have won 2 Premierships this century. It's interesting how much you put him down. Has he cut your grass or something for you to still hold such feelings?

ROC, different people will take this news in different ways. JT has a valid point about Mini playing on one more year being directly linked to losing RTS.

The weird thing about it is, if they didn't think he was good enough for fullback, surely he was good enough to be in the team at better coin than skd, toops, blake? You would think an offer of 500k was at least considered, or did they make such an offer and it was rejected by RTS?

Yep... and they paid almost 1/6 of their salary cap for him. IMO he's good but that's the kinda money you pay for GI/Hayne. He's not THAT good...

Not bagging the guy but he has flaws that will never be overcome, one being height, the other being ball playing ability (although that has improved a lot.) He's a nice zippy little FB and I really enjoy having him ar Bondi... he's done a lot of good and will be missed!

IMO joey summed him up on the weekend 'he has a nice right foot step, probably the best in the game and he almost always steps off the right foot.'

IMO for $800k you can buy more than a right-foot step. For example... I think the conversation now has to shift towards who will replace him and what we'll do with the $$$ we had reserved for resigning him.

He stayed around way too long. And it's still causing us problems.

Agreed, he's not worth $800,000 a year, he will be one day but not at the moment.

Also it's his left step that he almost always uses, though right isn't too shabby either, evidenced by his try against the dogs, circa 2013.

I've heard the same said of you.

Actually the only "problem" Mini hanging around created was where do we put another premiership trophy?
