RTS Signs 3 year deal with Warriors

  • #2
Still have that feeling that I have been cheated on,such a horrible feeling.
But as I read elsewhere,no player is bigger than the Club and the show must go on.
We will recover from this and get back to the top without RTS!

I'll miss him. And i'm absolutely gutted.

But my pain is tempered by the fact that he's not RWB. He's not passionate about our club. He viewed this as a business decision and showed no loyalty despite his young age. Was signing a 2 year 525k a year deal really so horrible a thought?

Pearce, Friend, Hargreaves, Cordner... these guys are the true flag bearers of our colours. They love the club and would never rush to sign elsewhere without paying their dues to the club that helped make them who they are first.

Latrell Mitchell will be a star and win Premierships as our fullback. RTS will star on an average team; a gutless team grossly lacking in the heart, determination and professionalism required to win a Premiership.

This is a kid who came from little, the opportunity to move back home and set up a life for his family that they would've never otherwise had is his loyalty. I can't have anything but respect for that.

From what I've heard about his speech to the boys this morning about the regard he holds the club in and the tears he shed I really don't want to question his dedication.

My pain is tempered by the fact that he's still got 5 more months here, 5 more months of highlights and the ultimate goal to go out on top and repay the club who gave him so much by delivering a premiership, he's something special and it could be a special ending to a brief but exciting Roosters career.

          All fair points.

But he's 21 years old. There's 10 years ahead of him to make millions. How about a 1 year deal to repay the club whilst Latrell develops? As if the Warriors wouldn't use Lolohea at fullback for 1 season if it meant signing RTS from 2017 onwards.

Keary and Tom Burgess have signed 1 year deals. Both talented youngsters so it's not a ridiculous suggestion.

I just think he's personally left us in a huge hole. One that could have been avoided even with a 1 year deal - to show respect to the coaches and club that helped enormously in developing his talents to perfection, and in doing so set him up for life.

It's disappointing. Hugely disappointing. Even though no doubt he's a great young kid.

He's a good kid, he's only following his old man's directions. At such a young age Roger's supporting his family and doing his best for them.
